It feels like part of my brain is missing. Like I got a lobotomy and somewhere didnt know it. It feels like the frontal lobe is gone and the rest of my brain is just being thrashed into the empty space every time I move. The world is spinning and I cant make it stop. I cant get rid of the migraines or the headaches. I cant focus. When I try to write, it feels like Im 6 years old again and in my first grade classroom writing Ty the Tasmanian Tiger fanfiction in my whitebook. It feels like all of the progress I made on my vocabulary and my storytelling went backwards. I am not happy with anything I write anymore. I go back and I read work I did three years ago and it's so much better than anything I write now.

I feel shame that my writing isn't where it used to be, thanks to brain fog and neurological issues that seem to grow each year. So those little gestures mean all the more to me now than they did a few years ago when I was writing work for other fandoms. It tells me that it's still worth it, even if I feel like it isn't.
