Since i already somewhat prepared the UI backend, it's time to spend an entire day drtawing UIs. All of them. Even if they're just placeholders. Just 2 more menus for store, and character customization and i could call it done for now, and start converting all of the files.

Because i'm usure in my current abilities from past test runs of DS related stuff with Night Fox, item sprite sheet only has 16 items. Not much, i know. But there's always gonna be 2 backgrounds loaded; one of them being static one that never changes, and the other one does sliding upwards animation upon opening menus, and then switches to menu UI when animation finished with a slight kick back for impact. So i would only have 64x (item sheet for any containers) and 64x128 textures (menu specific items). Try making 24x / 16x animated buttons, when NF restricts sprites to being at least 32x and POT. Even tiled and rotated look dumb, and i don't want to bake them into background. i know its possible to do stuff with color pallets to have differently flavored buttons, but im not there yet to do that.

Just got a silly thought of making a BeatSaber clone for every single HMD that is capable of head tracking and WiFi connection. Including Hololens (when i get it, and if it wont have issues). Since i mastered that OSC thing, and made my own OSC 3DOF Controller app (check my GitHub, this one is old, but the new version is in the making).

Hololens v1. And i alredy know they're useless nowadays. Intel Atom, no hand tracking, no functioning Unity SDK, and barely and homebrew.

is not as hard as i thought. 7 hour shift might sound short, and it is, but i get there and back home on feet, so, an hour and a half walking ontop. I actually work about 50% of the time, and somehow do more things than a legally hired janitor they have (they're on hiatus), and actually Knowing how much stuff Their janitor does, boy, i would gladly take Their place :p i even have enough time to work on original DS version of webfishing, while re-installing a pirated win 8.1 on their laptops (you know how much ppl in post-soviet contries Don't give a shee bt licenses) and getting some more from that. And that might be a second to forth (??????) time when i ever worked for a whole month, and surprisingly, time flies by. i thought that working as a dang Janitor would be deadly boring, but ehh, not really.

If we include money that i get from being a "disabled person", because having autism grants that thing (and that's a reason why i cannot be Hired full time on Any job), mmm, i get more than an average store worker. Which is still better than actually working at the store on my opinion, because nobody is yelling at me there, and i'm all alone by myself (70% of time).

And man, you underappreciate electric floor cleaners that do vacuuming and wiping at the same time, 10-20 minutes and im done for clearing floors for the rest of the day.

So i got that Vive Focus Plus Controller for collection (not headset).

And as usual, i already have a breakdown and an opinion on it;

Google AI can suck it's pickle, it ain't got no IR LEDs, which is obvious, because who the hell would Combine tracking systems? Checked via cameras of Meta Quest 2 and Leap Motion. There's No IR LEDs.

As you might suggest by it's look, it tries too hard to be an original HTC Vive Controller, but it fails in that. Plastic somehow feels cheaper than Vive Focus' original controller, even tho Plus version were made for Business partners.

Touchpad is nearly identical to Finch controller's size (the Vive Focus OG controller's name), but it's material is worse, even comparing to Finch, where it's nearly identical to HTC Vive. But i like Plus' touchpad click more. It feels more rigid and assuring that Yes, i Did pressed it. But my resting thumb covers 85% of touchpad's area.

Trigger is interesting one, if you hold controller, you might think that it has analog input, but it doesn't. It feels like HTC Vive controller lost 1/3 of it's travel distance, with super muffled plasticky click in the end. And that Click is The only input trigger can provide. There's no pressure sensitivity, even tho mechanically it behaves like it should be here.

Grip button is a button, like on HTC Vive, but it feels like a button on Steamdeck, when you want to press it into a handle, but actually you have to push it into the side of a screen. Same here, instead of pressing it in a normal middle finger pose, the finger should press upwards.

Both system buttons click identically like System button on Meta Quest 2 or Top Hamburger button on HTC Vive.

Handle's plastic is identical to a bottom of DSi LL, while ring feels like it's hinge.

Status LED behaves identical to Finch.

Balance on this thing is crazy, no matter what, with batteries or w/o, it Will flip upside down, and the center of mass is at the touchpad.

And this one should be on the top, but No, you cannot pait it to Original Vive Focus. Unpairing a single Finch controller and pressing anything on Plus won't do anything. Even if you remove batteries. And "Other Controllers" button in system menu is a bust. It does nothing. And so far i haven't found any bluetooth settings in system menu. Probably would figure stuff out with ADB, but i'm not sure.

And to finish things up, i'm pretty sure, i'm the First person on the internet to post a teardown pics of this controller. But i ain't got enough courage to disassemble the ring, cuz clips on it are Crazy, and i broke 4 guitar picks on it.. and there's 3 super thin ribbon cables near insertion points.

Wanted to figure out how to do Bluetooth related stuff for a While. Like, it started from a demo in a web browser, where it's possible to pair a Google Daydream VR Controller and look the 3D model rotate, check its battery, and button actions. Normally controller would just go to sleep from inactivity when connected and not used in Daydream App. So, that got me curious, if i can make something like this in WindowsForms (because i only know C#. Unity's C#, not normal one), i'll cream all over myself, because once i get that one working, ho-ho-ho, i already have a few thoughts of connecting incompatible VR controllers to incompatible VR headsets. Eg Vive Focus Plus controller with GearVR.. (within an app, or potentially making a background process, trying to intercept and translate data into VR-Server of a headset.. isn't that how viruses work tho?~) at least that's what i think. As of right now, i have No idea how Bluetooth works. And i know that i won't get positional tracking. Like, Pico neo 2 controllers require a magnet thing to determine position, or Focus Plus needs an ultrasonic sound source, but Still, they probably Should send all the other data, except physical position in that case. But if we go even further into that, im curious if i would be able to produce a sound that would make controller to determine position, same with Pico Neo 2 but with magnets.

i'm just super excited. Even if it won't really work out, knowing how to handle Bluetooth devices might come handy for ESP32 related junk at some point, cuz i wanted to make my own Flip VR controllers. HAVE YOU SEEN THE PRICE ON THOSE?!

and uhh, not knowing what to say. How is it possible to be a system administrator, a 30yo+ guy with a huge beard, a straight furry, and be into baby furs wearing diapers.
