New York rock singer-songwriter Josh Flagg released his latest full length album Tracing Shapes on Residential Records on June 3, 2016. Tracing Shapes is the sophomore album and fifth studio release from Josh Flagg. After relentless touring and years of songwriting, Flagg is excited to share his new, amplified sound with audiences everywhere.

Recorded at Brooklyn's Mission Studio and produced by Kieran Kelly (Sufjan Stevens, Better Than Ezra), Tracing Shapes's sound began to pull together as Flagg added a third guitarist to his live show. The three driving guitar lines allowed Flagg to experiment with different rhythms and textures and pushed him lyrically to meet the demand of the new anthemic sound.

The album draws themes of loneliness, rebirth, marriage, intimacy, and accepting one's identity. Flagg strove to focus on the humanity and personality of each character he sings about on the record. On "The Floor It Shakes," he sings about the need to persevere through one's faults and reoccurring mistakes. The single delivers exactly what Tracing Shapes is all about – guitar driven rock with catchy melodies and universal lyricism.

New Found Land is Anna Roxenholt, a Berlin based Swede known for her quirky pop songwriting and mystical, electronic flair. On May 27th, she released her highly anticipated fourth studio album LORE on Fixe Records.

LORE signifies another step in the electronic direction for New Found Land. Working with Per Eklund (Miike Snow, Lykke Li, Alessia Cara) and Simon Nordberg (Anna Ternheim, Håkan Hellström, Heather Nova), the album effortlessly moves from electro-pop anthems “Chateau” and “January First" to introspective, ethereal tunes “Forgetmenot” and “Ordinary Love.” Captivating melodies blended with electronic flair and heavy beats make LORE an accessible, yet never obvious full length.

Throughout the writing process, Anna found herself getting a lot of inspiration from ancient myths and tales, from heretical Swedish love spells to Eastern Sufism, European fire rituals and Egyptian curses to Pythia, and the prophetic Oracle of Delphi. As a result of these departures, each of the twelve individual chapters breathe a refreshingly undefinable air.

Los Angeles noise pop duo Bür Gür released their extra trippy “Shek” music video over on Tune Collective last week! The video sees a stream of psychedelic and glitchy visuals that jump from shots of Bür Gür to animated clips, all colored with perfectly turbulent graphics.

If you’re not already familiar, Bür Gür is made up of Makan Negahban and Corbin Clarke. They released their sophomore album Have You Lost Your Faith In God? on April 1st with the help of New Los Angeles and recently premiered their “Green Sauce” video on IHEARTCOMIX. 

Van Damsel releases their debut, self-titled full length Van Damsel today, April 22, 2016, via MIH Entertainment Group.

Comprised of bassist Matthew “Renny” Rennehan, drummer Matthew Barron, guitarist Rich Bregoliss, and singer Sebastien Ste Marie, Van Damsel seamlessly weaves organic indie rock with glossy synth pop, blurring lines between styles and eras and bridging now with then, digital with analog, sparkle with substance. It’s a sound that tastefully borrows from genre benders like Phoenix, The 1975, and PHASES, resulting in a fresh mix with massive mainstream appeal.

New York based MC and multi-instrumentalist TK The Architect shares his first single “Wait Up Slow Down” off his upcoming full length Blue Season. “Wait Up Slow Down” is filled with conscious lyricism, delicious backing vocals, and live instrumentation, and is very much for fans of Donnie Trumpet’s Surf.

Throughout The Fluid Ounce, Shriner explores themes of love, luck, and privilege within our time of social media, self-help, and mass surveillance. Shriner's refined songwriting skills shine through on "E. Minor." Taking inspiration from his experience as a mental health therapist, "E. Minor's" lyrics speak to a young adult who has made the journey from childhood abuse and hardship to independence.

Tracks like "Slow Shadow" and "Bones of St. Joan" explore a dreamy, shoe-gaze sound with a mix of acoustic and electronic instrumentation and tight vocal harmonies, while "Inward the Course" offers a softer, folk leaning sound from Shriner. With an array of inspirations, The Fluid Ounce jumps from folk rock to dream pop to prog and is sure to keep listeners plugged in.
