I recently learned that 72% of farms and agricultural holdings in South Africa are still owned by white settlers/descendents of white colonizers.

White South Africans make up only 7-8% of the population yet they own a majority of individually held commercial farmland. Even 30 years after apartheid officially ending in South Africa, the underlying inequality still persists.

I think most people don't realize how long colonial and imperial systems persist and how important it is that we keep all this in mind as we continue to see the same cycles get repeated throughout the world. This is violence and it's still ongoing
