As soon as Betty saw Valentina’s nod, she mirrored the gesture and waited impatiently for the next stop. Once the bus creaked to a halt, she rose and exited through the automatic doors, looping her bag over her neck.

Greer knocked in the door and waited for the other one to answered.The girl come to her and said she wanted to talk with Greer so that’s why she was standing on the other girl’s door. She glance at the door again when she heard the door make a noise. She look up to see the girl. “Hi. You said you wanted to talk with me”she said looking at the other girl. “You want my works?”.

“I’m sorry?” Valentina questioned as soon as she opened the door, instantly confused with what was going on. She’d been so focused on her work, had she called someone by mistake? “I’m sorry, I don’t think I called you-- do I know you?”

YB: I suppose it depends, are you still coming home late?

ZZ: ahaha i love ya val, never change

ZZ: perfect! i shall see you then(:

Laughing, she shrugged one shoulder and tucked her bag under her arm. “I’m pretty hapless at reporting, actually. I like blogging more.” Betty could tell that Valentina had reacted oddly to the question, which intrigued her - but she realized at the same time that she shouldn’t push or prod for details. This was probably why she wasn’t the best at dogging people for answers. 

“If you want to meet her, you can meet her. I never thought it had to be a thing where I introduced you,” he said. “Also, it definitely seems like I’m dying, and since you’re the one who told me, you should be the one who tells her, too.”

THEIR LAST MEETING wasn’t exactly ideal, and maybe awkward, but maybe he really did have the wrong person. “Well I think you have a twin around here then, because I could have sworn we met. My mistake, sorry about that?”

“No, don’t worry about it.” Though Valentina felt bad about lying she could feel her cheeks quickly heating up, causing her to turn away.

Gabe watched her with some interest, his head tilted as he waited for something to happen, but when she pulled away, his brow knitted together. An eyebrow raised for a moment before he sighed, leaning back in his chair. “I’m dying tomorrow or something, aren’t I?” he asked, as if it was the most normal thing in the world. He ran a hand through his hair, making it stick up all over his head. “I’m dying tomorrow and that was what I see after I die. Great. Love it.” He crinkled his nose slightly and snorted. “Now, who’s going to tell Barbara? I vote you.”

“Me?” Val shook her head the second Gabe’s words sunk in. She turned to him with wide eyes and let out a huff. “The same Barbara who just had something awful happen to? The one you haven’t introduced me to yet?” She shook her head again. “You are not dying, I’m distracted. Plus, I so wouldn’t be that messenger.” 

ZZ: oh hurray! we can go to that thai place then hang around mine after?

ZZ: aha you are a true friend, thank you :p

VV: The one by your house or the one of 59th??

VV: Actually scratch that, if we're hanging out at yours after the one by your house would make more sense lol.

“Great.” Betty boarded the bus optimistically, not giving a thought to the possibility of running into any real danger. It occurred to her once they were both next to each other that she didn’t really know much about Valentina at all - and she cleared her throat awkwardly before asking, “So… is this what you do? Help hapless reporters?”

YB: Valentina.

YB: Are you sure you're alright?

VV: Yeah

ZZ: whenever! lunch tomorrow? or if later is better then later works

ZZ: i love aha i am going to use it in all my pickup lines :p

VV: That sounds perfect!

Shifting her weight from side to side, Betty tried not to ask the dozens of questions that rose in her mind. She didn’t want to overwhelm her source (a good one at that). “I’m fine about the bus,” she replied immediately, her voice rising. “Also, is it okay if I quote you? I have to ask. I can put anonymous if that’s better.”
