The Talk | Victor & Kennedy
kennedy-monroe:
Kennedy shook her head. âDonât do that because of me.â She said. She looked at Vic. âIâm just glad youâre happy. You deserve it.â She let him know. âIâll get over it.â She added.Â
âI know, I know... but I donât want to make it difficult for you,â Vic reached out and grabbed her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. He wasnât sure that was acceptable, but things were going to be awkward anyway. âYou donât really want to be with an old grumpy man anyway, Rowan could tell you all about how horribly annoying I am,â he chucked.
Zum Geburtstag viel GlĂźck | Letters to Rowan 1/??
Berlin, Germany. 1 July 2016. @rorwanbadass
Happy birthday, Liebling.
I canât be with you today, but I hope this goes at least some of the way to make up for that. Iâll make up for the rest tenfold when I get back home. God, I havenât even left for the conference by the time of writing this, but this is already making me miss you. How pathetic is that, huh?
Speaking of pathetic: Iâm so sorry to be the one to tell you this, but it turns out your boyfriend is a huge dork. I decided to make you a little treasure hunt for the day to keep you entertained. Your presents are all hidden around my apartment, unless you already snuck in and looked for them after I left. In that case⌠you know their location better than I do, and I just hope that youâre enjoying them.
The Talk | Victor & Kennedy
Kennedy sighed. âRowan has nothing to be jealous about. If she wants to switch rooms with me because she doesnât trust me, thatâs fine. Iâll do it.â She shrugged. She looks at Vic and wiped her eyes. âIâm sorry for telling you.â She apologized
âI wouldnât worry about swapping rooms. Rowan doesnât really trust anyone anyway,â he shrugged, offering her a smile that hopefully wasnât too awkward. He wasnât sure if Rowan should even know about this. Probably not. It wasnât like it had to become an issue between all of them. âNo, no... Iâm glad you did. I should know. Iâll... try not to rub your face in all of it, I guess.â

The Talk | Victor & Kennedy
âYou didnât give me any wrong impression.â Kennedy looked at him. âIt was just me being stupid.â She said. âAnd I didnât tell you because I knew you had feelings for Rowan still and I didnât want to put you in this kind of situation.â
âNo, I get that... it wouldnât have made things easier if Rowan knew, trust me.â He frowned, already feeling horrible at the prospect of Kennedy having to deal with a jealous Rowan. Not that anything had happened between him and Ken, but the thought still worried him slightly. âAlso you werenât stupid. Itâs not like youâre intentionally doing anything. If anything Iâm sorry that you have to witness all this childish drama between me and Rowan...â He sighed, wondering when his life had become so high school once again.
The Talk | Victor & Kennedy
Kennedy looked away and was quiet. She was mad at Vic for guessing but she knew she had to be honest. âYes.â She admitted with a sigh. âI couldnât tell you though, for obvious reasons.â
Victor sat there quietly for what felt like hours, not sure what to say to her. Of course he didnât want to hurt her, but he didnât exactly have any good news for her either. Finally he sighed, echoing her, and looked down at his feet as he spoke. âWell, I can honestly say that I never wanted to hurt you. And Iâm sorry if I gave you the wrong impression...â He looked over at her, forcing himself to man up and actually face the uncomfortable situation.âBut I do really care about you, Kennedy, a lot. Iâve really loved spending all this time with you."
The Talk | Victor & Kennedy
Kennedy wiped her eyes. âJust because he was interested and still interested in someone else.â She said. She scooted away from Vic and was quiet. âAnd I knew it too.â
âAh, that kind of thing... if it helps, weâve all been there.â Vic tried his best to sound understanding, because he was, but he was taken aback when she backed away from him. He spent another moment in confusion, still not sure what he had done, but suddenly it dawned on him, his eyes widening slghtly at the realization, âWait, you mean... me?â It did make sense. She had started acting strange around the time he and Rowan had become closer once again, but he still hadnât been prepared for this.
The Talk | Victor & Kennedy
kennedy-monroe:
Kennedy laughed and quickly covered her mouth. âSorry.â She apologized after she was done. âFuck.â She shook her head and could feel tears coming to her eyes. âDonât worry about it.â She told Vic. âHe never had any interest in me.â She looked at him as she spoke. âAnd I knew it too. So, nothing to worry about. Just me being stupid.â
Victor was more confused than ever when she burst out laughing, and he eyed her cautiously, wondering if he should call in one of the therapists. When she stopped laughing, though, he saw tears in her eyes, and he instinctively stepped closer to her. He didnât want to see her all upset, not if he could help it. âHey...â he said quietly, sitting down on her bed, âIâm sure youâre not being stupid. And if you are, at least it sounds like he is too. Why wouldnât he be interested in you?â

The Talk | Victor & Kennedy
âNo such such thing as a bad party.â Kennedy giggled lightly and looked down at her hands. She had purposely avoided his first question. She wasnât okay, but she had no energy to fight with Vic or anyone at the moment
âTrue, true,â he chuckled, glancing around the space, which looked freakishly normal considering how off Kennedy seemed. Vic just kept standing around awkwardly in the middle of the room for a while, not really sure what to do with himself, or how to approach the situation. âSo, um... boy trouble? I donât mean to listen in, ever, but man whoever was in here is loud,â he smiled at her, hoping he wasnât overstepping any boundaries. But this was Kennedy, she had proven over and over again that sheâd talk about practically anything. âDo I need to go beat someone up for you?â
The Talk | Victor & Kennedy
kennedy-monroe:
Kennedy tensed when she heard Victorâs voice. He was another reason she was out partying. Granted she had never fold Vic about her feelings towards him, she needed something to get over him and partying worked. After a moment of silence and debate in her mind, she finally said, âCome on in.â She pulled the covers up so that her whole body except for her head was covered
Victor sensed her hesitation, although he was slightly confused about it. Usually Kennedy was all bright and happy, always wanting to talk. This definitely didnât bode well. He opened the door cautiously, not sure what to expect when he entered the room. She was in a similar position to the first time heâd come to check on her, and that brought a smile to his face. âAre you okay?â he asked her, walking closer to her but not wanting to come too close to her either. It just felt safer to keep at a distance until he understood what exactly was going on, âYou canât be hungover yet... right? Bad party?â
raiarxmos:
walking back into the house, backpack swung over her shoulders, raia made her way to room #8 - a place that had become somewhat of a haven, as the name would have it. a few weeks ago, sheâd received a call from her mother; a call she hadnât wanted to answer, but her mom never called, so sheâd answered it. it was about her father - heâd been incarcerated for what seemed like the millionth time in her life, but this time was different. this time, heâd killed the two men that had assaulted her before sheâd fled for SH, and sheâd been called to stand trial to defend him. it wasnât something she wanted to get into now, or ever, really. everything had come back up - all the feelings sheâd had that night. but damn, was she glad to be back here.
looking up towards the doorway as she sensed the body that had turned the corner, she gave a sweet smile. âhey.â
Vicâs whole face lit up when he saw his favorite Virginia Woolf fan girl, "I thought I saw you! Through the window. Not that I was... watching you or anything... I was just making coffee...â He rambled on for a moment, then smiled at her sheepishly and gave up with a shrug. It had been a while since heâd seen Raia, and he was just so excited to be talking to her again. At least he knew that she already knew much more embarrassing things about him, which was both comforting and disconcerting all at once. âItâs good to have you back,â he finally managed to say somewhat normally, and it really was. Vic was aware that Raia was a big girl who didnât need him to worry about her, but he couldnât help doing so. He just always worried a little when people left the house. âHow was your trip to... was it back home to Chicago or am I just making things up?â
The Talk | Victor & Kennedy
Since her GED classes didnât start for another week, Kennedy had decided she was going to use the last week of freedom partying and partying hard. Walking into the house after a night filled with drugs and alcohol, Kennedy made her way to her bedroom. Her heels in one hand and her purse in another. âFuck I need a shower.â She said as she stopped outside her door. Kennedy groaned. âSleep first, shower later.â She said and opened her bag as she began to look for her keys. âCome on, where are you?â She asked the inanimate object. âGreat Kennedy, not only are you talking to yourself, youâre talking to your keys as well.â She whispered with an eye roll.
âYes!â Kennedy exclaimed as she pulled the keys out and unlocked her door. Once in her room, she shut the door behind her, dropped her shoes and her bag and stripped down to her lingerie. âBed.â She said with a yawn and walked over to her bed and got in.

Victor was up early, he always was. Sleeping in wasnât exactly his forte, blame it on his almost constant caffeine intake, but most of all he enjoyed the early morning silence while the rest of the house was asleep. Silence was a rare thing around Safe Haven, and Victorâs life as a whole had been a lot louder ever since he started seeing Rowan again. She wasnât there this morning, though, and Vic was just spending some quality time with his other great love: his books. And the sweet, sweet silence.
That is, until he heard voices in the hallway. Well, one voice, and some strange groaning. Knowing his neighbor, that was a sign that she had been drinking and was now not feeling great. He spent a moment debating if he should do anything, but eventually decided to get up and check on her. It had been well-received last time, so it couldnât hurt, right? He put his book aside and got out of bed, yawning slightly as he walked over to her room and knocked on the door quietly, âMorning, Ken. Are you okay in there? Just checking in.â
Kennedy smiled. âMy door is always open to you.â She told him
âWell, Iâll still be respectful and knock first. I donât want to interrupt anything if I can help it,â he chuckled. It wasnât like he wouldnât be able to hear anything that went on, but still. âIâm really trying to be a good neighbor, if you couldnât tell.â

kyliepratts:
Letting out a soft laugh as he asked again, âIâm fine. Just a little buzzed. Donât worry. If I do get piss drunk, I can usually find my way back so donât feel like you have to worry about it.â And that was the truth. She never passed out and she always hoped that she never would. Kylie didnât want to get too drunk anyways, she knew that if she drank too much she would start overthinking and all the feelings would finally hit her. She wasnât ready for that. Especially when she was now with someone who she didnât want to scare away with an emotional break down. âThank you, Vic. I can call you Vic right?â She asked. After all, she knew some people had nicknames they hated.
His question caused a smile to appear on her lips. âI think people heard about us and they ran off because I havenât dealt with any recently. If anything, I think Iâm the biggest ArschlĂścher around. But I donât really favor the idea of me punching myself.â She admitted. Her inner thoughts have become a battle between her and herself. She began having problems with feeling like she could enjoy herself. She didnât want to be having fun because thatâs NOT why she was here. She was here because she was a coward. âIâm glad you feel safer, thanks to you I feel safer too though. Youâre not the only one.â She said, taking another swig from her whiskey.
âWell, weâre kind of going in the same direction, so it would be silly for us to leave by ourselves now, wouldnât it?â He smiled at her, hoping he didnât come across as too pushy. Her company was such a relief for him, especially tonight, and he would like to keep it for as long as possible. âOf course you can call me Vic. Itâs better than Theo, who's gotten into an awful habit of calling me Vicky,â he chuckled, âI know youâd never do that.â Not that he really minded anyway, as long as it was not ill-intentioned. Victor was just happy to have some actual friends in the house. It kept him at least somewhat sane.
His brows furrowed when she spoke so poorly of herself, that definitely wasnât the Kylie he knew and trusted with his secrets. A lot of questions came to mind, and he had to ask them all at once: âWhy would you ever want to punch yourself anyway? What happened? Did you get in trouble?â Victor looked at his friend with concern, trying not to just imagine upsetting scenarios himself. The alcohol wasnât doing much to calm down his imagination, though. âLook if you need me, Iâm here. Whatever it is.â
Platonically, duhhh | Vic & Theo
theodore-quinn:
Eyes widening at the short laugh, Theo panicked hoping their act wouldnât slip because that would be more embarrassing that what they were doing now. As soon as Victor caught back on he relaxed, turning back into this crazed bitch alter ego of himself. âItâs not my fault that your wife is a weak fuck? Said so yourself, you prefer my twink-ass.â Theo snarled, eyes clearly amused behind the facade. âIâm creating the scene?! Youâre the one creating a scene! Donât bring repayments into this you asshole, you donât own me. This fucked up relationship isnât a grace! You were much hotter in Vegas.â He banged the table. âWhere the fuck is this waiter?!â
âYou were much hotter in Vegas too, youâre so... controlling now. This is why I drink, Victor, and now I canât even choose my own wine!â The real Victorâs voice was now officially too loud for the menâs own good, but he was just getting too carried away with the drama of it all. He stilled for a moment, appearing deceptively calm before letting out a loud, dramatic sigh. The show was still on, âAlright, look. Letâs just order and have the food delivered to our room. Maybe you can get the waiter to come as well, so you can fuck him too.â
