Forgotten Marble Hornets Facts

The hotel seen in the beginning of Entry 43, according to the Season 2 DVD commentary, is actually a hotel in Mississippi that Troy Wagner (who plays Jay) was staying in at the time for another job.

All of MH except for one shot in Entry 43 was filmed in Alabama, primarily around the Tuscaloosa area.

(OOG) The “box of thing” in Entry 54 actually contained the bass guitar that can be seen in Entry 19. Since the bass was implied to belong to Jay, it was placed out of sight in order to avoid any continuity issues. 

The channel number of the news report seen in Entry 85 is 44.

After Entry 26 was uploaded, there were no tweets or updates of any kind until over six months later, when three pictures were mysteriously posted to the Marble Hornets Twitter over the course of a few weeks. 

(OOG) The shot in TTA’s Reminder of Jay checking out the antique shop was inspired by a goof in Entry 53. The reflection that can be seen in the glass in 53 was actually Joseph (Alex) standing in the background; when the entry was uploaded and fans noticed the figure, the series creators decided to run with it. 

Entry 42 contains the first instance of swearing in the series.

Entry 19 is the only entry in which Jay directly references a video on the totheark channel. 

(OOG) Continuity error: Two different bags seem to have been used for Tim’s duffel bag in season 3. In Entries 72 and 87, the bag is blue; however, in every other appearance (Entries 77, 81, and 85) the bag is green and doesn’t appear to have any side pockets. 

Near the end of TTA’s Session, there is a single frame of a figure standing in a doorway, with the words “he’s watching” at the bottom of the image. 

TTA’s Inquiry ends with heavily distorted images of Jay, Tim, and Alex.

(OOG) At some point between Entry 38 and Entry 50, Joseph (Alex) misplaced the blue striped jacket that Alex was wearing in 38. Since Entry 50 takes place immediately before and after the events of that entry, a replacement jacket had to be ordered from online in order to avoid a glaring continuity error, causing a delay in Entry 50′s production.

The exact setting for the events of Marble Hornets is never specifically stated in the series; aside from what can be inferred from the characters’ accents and the topography of the locations, the only concrete (though likely unintentional) indication is an American flag in the background of Entry 53, signalling that the series takes place somewhere in the United States. 

At the beginning of TTA’s Exit, the words “RAT” “HE” “ORE” and “TOP” flash on the screen, forming an anagram for “the Operator”. 

(OOG) Continuity error: (?) When Masky chases Jay out of the hotel in Entry 33, the two doors that they emerge from are not the same doors that Jay and Jessica can be seen using in the prior entries. 

The scribbled figure in TTA’s Intermission, posted as a response to Entry 40, may have been meant to represent Hoody, who can be seen sitting in a similar pose in Entry 42; however, it also bears a striking resemblance to Jessica in Entry 76.
