The concept of the "Worst Batch" and the other defective clones of the GAR
The Worst Batch are anonymous reg enemies, but just like Clone Force 99, they have body types that deviate from the standard reg figure. In a strictly canonical sense I'd chalk that up to cybernetics or the result of experimentation that altered their bodies beyond recognition. Anyway. To take the concept of the Worst Batch and make them more than mid-stage bosses without any backstory to them- I think it'd be so much more interesting if they weren't regulation clones.
Instead, what if they were like 99? Due to his defects, 99 was given janitorial duty instead of getting to be a soldier, but he continued to dream about fulfilling his "purpose" and dies for the opportunity to do so. There's a fair chance other defective clones in 99's position had similar desires. There's room for envy and even resentment for regulation clones and the Batch alike that could easily be sparked by the fact that they were deployed while these 99s were denied from that. These are emotions Hemlock could have twisted and manipulated into his favour for his CX experiments, especially if he wanted to create his own version of CF99. The CX troopers even have a cultish reverence towards Hemlock which could be an extreme form of gratitude for his enabling them to be powerful soldiers. (Do note that the Star Wars database specifies that the CX troopers were unwilling subjects, though, so I think this mindset was formed after experimentation)
+ Additional headcanon I have about 99s that isn't specifically related, but I wanted to dump into a post anyway: Defective clones that were created specifically for the genetic deviance enhancement experiment have standard 4 number designations that begin with 99 (as we see with Clone Force 99). Any other intentionally made clones were terminated (why Nala Se said there were only 5 remaining). Every time an experimental 99 was terminated, the numbers of their CT numbers were updated to maintain orderly numbers that didn't have any gaps (CT-9901, 9902, 9903, 9904, and so on, if there were more) Thus, Hunter might have not been 9901 at first, but recieved that number when others labeled before him didn't make it. On the other hand, clones that were designed to be regulation but were deemed notably defective by the Kaminoans would have the numbers 99 added before their designation. For example, CT-1234 would become CT-99-1234. Natural 99s were either terminated or given non-combat roles (like 99).
Soe xcited to share my piece for @pabudayszine ! It was and has been a huge blast to work on!

In case anyone needs it, I have the "library" of every clone that has an official name in the Clone Wars.
It's a sheet of gifs but it still has everyone (except the newest characters from Bad Batch they haven't been added yet.)
A gift.
More Dathomir younglings, I love love love drawing them! +I had a lucid memory of 11 year old me practising Aikido with my jedi braid and younger kids being annoying in class, I think I was as patient as Obi-Wan.
more of that empire echo design i made...

You have no idea how much I wish we could have seen Maul interact with his crew, specifically Scorn and Icarus. I want to know how he recruited them, how he convinced them to join his merry band of thugs. You can’t just have two nightbrother Zabraks thrown in there and then give us nothing. Come on, I need something 😭
If you're seeing this post that means it's Darth Maul's Beauty Appreciation Hour™️
Appreciate his beauty
Recently I've been thinking about Devon meeting Ahsoka or Ezra or some other Jedi (after having been Maul's apprentice for a time, but appearing as a Jedi for now)
Ahsoka is very glad to meet another Jedi, even tho Devon definitely gives off vibes like she's been going through a lot. Devon, too, is happy to work alongside someone competent.
Her saber form is great and she's the right kind of sneaky, doesn't mind cooperating with Rebels or Mercenaries alike. Both valuable in a scrap and as the getaway driver. Has a way with words, too.
Really, working with her is neat and Ahsoka is starting to like having another lady with lekku around.
And then a mission goes south badly and they're cornered and Devon is losing it. Ahsoka tries reassuring her it'll get better, help is on the way but she's not listening and the enemy is closing in and-
Devon snaps.
Her scream is deafening (especially through the Force) but what's worse is how she goes from carefully considering her strikes to being a sheer storm of chaos. Cutting off limbs left and right, tossing objects with the Force, constantly jumping and dashing until all of them are destroyed.
When the smoke clears, what remains is less a battlefield and moreso a massacre. Ahsoka sees it and knows, deep in her bones, what, or rather, who this is. She looks up from the corpses strewn around and her eyes find Devon's and for mere moments she thinks she can see a red, horned Zabrak standing pridefully in her stead.
Then her vision clears and Devon is gone, vanished into the Shadows whence she came, and Ahsoka can do nothing but mourn another Jedi lost...
SOOO I made something

I do love how Shadow Lord is actually engaging with Maul as a disabled character. His protheses need regular, painful maintenance, and they react painfully to water. What would’ve been a surface burn that he could’ve shrugged off if he had his old legs turns into a massive problem that unexpectedly causes him to collapse and lose control of his legs. He’s actually disabled by the whole not having legs thing, it’s great
I think in any Jedi!Maul scenario where he grew up in the temple his whole life, it would be very very funny if he kept the evil Sam Witwer voice and cadence and delivery when he talked. Good guy with terminal mellifluous bad guy voice. He doesn’t hear it and can’t help it, everything he says sounds suspicious by default and constantly makes people do double takes. Genuinely a good person but sounds like the most classic evil mustache twirler of all time
