A coffee art piece of the pony and Nixsvy. Yes, the coloring was made with actual coffee. Brew'd some coffee, grabbed some paint brushes, and poured some of the coffee into a separate container and used it as a color pallet. Just make sure you don't drink it, though. The results is a mess, yeah. But I am enjoying the process. And I actually like the aesthetics of it. (Looks bad, but whatever. Just do what needs to be done. The mess does give it some charm, I guess.)

There is a few big reasons why I don't do color as much. First one being- taking too much time to do. Almost any artist can tell you that line-art is the quickest way to get a simple picture done and shared. Quick and easy. And color, especially the more detailed ones, can drag on for so long if you don't know what you are doing. Which brings up the next reason. I am no color enthusiast. Or at all that good with it. Every time I have to work with it, after some time of working on it, I take a quick look and think to myself- "...This looks really bad!" And heavily critique myself with the mess-ups and errors and how incorrect it all looks. Bringing my mood down and just wanting to give up on the piece entirely. Or worse... stalling the project and dragging the time every more. Which in turn makes me feel even more bad because I need to get it done. So it feels like a never ending guilt and despair whenever it happens. ><; ; And lastly, a unique reason... is that I use mouse and software techniques to get coloring made. I do not own a tablet. Or any digital pens. Or any kind of fancy pressure points to get color render/shading done. I use paper, pencil, a scanner, a mouse (vertical mouse), and CS4 shop for the edits. I just cannot do color properly. ._. Soo... yeah. That previous art challenge was SO MUCH of a struggle with me that it took so much time to get it done because of the repeated mistakes and fix ups and trying to get it to look good. But in the end, I had to make due with what I have and just.. get it over with and move on. Just gotta keep moving forward, you know?

And here here we have it. The 1st of the Music-Art-Background challenge hinted by Nixsvy months ago. Where every bit of knowledge that I've accrued over the years of drawing nothing but black and white traditional sketches- with some little bits of color here and there. Learning to color and shade and render and such. And applying it to 1 picture. It's not the best, I know. But it is some type of progress. And the start of a series of art challenges outside of the usual art things I would normally do. (There's some gibberish text at the top... If you know what it is, how to use it, and where to put it, use it to follow the music... ... Have fun.)

Having any kind of shades for a Snivy is not an easy task. Been struggling trying to find a match and trying making it "fit" per-say. ^^; I've also been working on a umm... "bigger picture" project along the way. This one being one of Nixsvy challenges. It will explain why the shades, don't worry. It all depends on how much time this will take.

And normally it's the other way around with the cake giving. But since things have been changing, lets appreciate her instead. ^ ^

But yes, it is true. I had this planned for a.. really really long time.. Since Roaming Nomads, actually. But I never got around to properly reveal it because I wanted it to be a better impact than just "Tada! Here's how she looks!" sort of deal. I never got around to do it properly because of how much I drowned myself in the story arcs. I had to completely abandon the idea of some kind of special color reveal. And also, coloring taking too much time out of me to achieve. Quantity/world building over quality. And I'm just 1 person doing all of this…

Anyway, I'll be getting back into the swing of things now. I made this quick rough sketch to show how I sketch things first.

With the limited game mode over after some time, it has revealed just how limited time I have left over to even make any progress towards the game ranks. As much as I would love to go the distance with game ranking and reaching the best, it is impossible to keep up with both when the only 2 hobbies I have are constantly conflicting each other. If I'm working on 1, the other has to suffer and lag behind by a lot… This is a reminder that I do not have time for both.

She did some… clearing. But don't worry, it's all good here. Just a certain "place" had a bit of an adjustment is all. ^^;

Also, this was supposed to have been uploaded close to the end of October. But I had other matters to attend.

Funfact: Nixsvy still holds the name 'X'. It is a name that she used to use a very long time ago. It is still one of her alias' that she will use to conceal her identity when roaming around in her cloak. It's just rather hilarious to me that a certain social media platform decided to adopt the name 'X' as their brand name. (I hate it…..)

But don't worry, it won't last long. Right after, I can get back into the swing of things again. I already got roughs done.
