Unashamed✞

"Stay alert; be in prayer so you don't wander into temptation without even knowing you're in danger. There is a part of you that is eager, ready for anything in God. But there's another part that's lazy as an old dog sleeping by the fire." -Matthew 26:41 (MSG)

The message version of this verse basically says it all. Sometimes we wander off the straight and narrow path that leads to Christ without even realizing we're strayed away. The devil wants sin to look pretty; he wants you to think you're doing what's right, when in reality you're doing the exact opposite. To avoid this, we must stay focused on God- putting Him first in all that we do. God will lead us in the right direction toward eternal life.

I was at a camp a few years back when I heard this verse for the first time. When the speaker told us this verse, he tried to put it into easier to understand terms. He said "When we're at our ugliest, Christ STILL loves us." Imagine that. Picture Christ as being the attractive person you always try to look your best for. What if they saw you at your absolute worst? What if they saw you then and still loved you all the same? That is exactly what Christ does for you, but in an even better way. His love is 100% unconditional. It never fails. He can wipe away your sins and truly forgive you no matter what you do. You are loved more than you'll ever know by someone who died to know you. Now THAT is true love.\
