i have SO MANY actually .. you have no idea. i suppose i just never share it bc SFGAE is so dear to me (i'm literally agatha) and i fear the fandom for some reasons that i can't even pinpoint

they go back to teaching at the school for evil ( sophie dean and i think hort would create a new class ) but sophie takes a sabbatical from doing her dean duties to go tour all the kingdoms. of course hort comes because he can’t possibly live without her for a couple weeks.

In my fanfic I'd written 10 years ago (middle school) their relationship was the exact same EXCEPT they never wed and are ALWAYS enduring the emotional roller coaster of each other's impulses. Horphie is constantly making out with each other in empty classrooms and are each other's dates at galas, though they still sleep separately (Sophie is very particular about her spaces). Hort still endures the same patterns as before, except over the years, since the books, they've never had anyone except each other as interests, and in spite of never being wed, and never being a public item (even though everyone knows they're together), Hort loves Sophie. And always and forever, though Sophie loves to create drama: ("How are you and Hort, Sophie?' 'Oh, there's no need to mention him anymore, darling. I'm a new woman, Aggie! This semester I will be wholly single and divine.' 'Whatever you say, Soph.") She loves him. She loves his patience, and she loves her prince, however Hort-ish he may be. ("I didn't expect to see you tonight.' 'I didn't expect to still see you in those pajamas.' 'Quit.' 'Ribbit.") But everyone knows, as transient and insecure as their relationship may seem, that they're as enduring as the rest of their friends. And year in and year out, they're home with each other as long as they're together.
