Kind of a slow night for you, Sam? How come you’re checking into those? Tonight’s going pretty well though, how about yours?

Oh, ugh because I don’t remember anything about them... so I’m trying to figure out how to be a judge. It’s good. It’s quiet. I’m glad your night is going well, dude.

Dave: Nah, you didn't make it awkward. I mean, I just know our old history and all, but I'm hoping maybe it wont be? We'd just watch the game and you know, eat all the junk food we could and whatever?

What would you do with comics though? Sell them or draw them yourself?

Draw them. I’ve always been into art and comics so it’s like a perfect combination.

Well the murder case sounds interesting. Was it at least a … mysterious kind of murder?

From what I can tell it took them a long time to even put it altogether. The cops and detectives and lawyers I mean. They had first ruled out murder. So I guess it was mysterious. 

You have a legal dictionary? What even is that? Maybe you got smarter when you got older. You had to have. 

I guess it’s kind of like a regular dictionary except it explains like legal terms. You’re right. I wasn’t stupid or anything but I seem to know more now.

Yeah, they do. I had one when I was in Westerville, ya know my parents. She’s pregnant, congrats! 

Oh, right. Well, then I’ll find out if I have one and we will go. Yeah, it’s pretty cool. I mean, like, I’m going to be a dad. It’s insane but I’m looking forward to it.

I’m very much aware that she’s a great girl, but thank you, Sam. It’s just… how things are. I’m sure you can understand that. …I guess it sort of is like having two jobs in one, but I don’t really see it that way. We have different duties depending on what’s going on. Sometimes we’re EMTs and resuscitating someone after a cardiac arrest, and sometimes we’re fighting blazes… It’s all part of the job.

Yes, food. Something I’m very familiar with. I won’t lie but I’ve been really craving watermelon lately. I could eat a whole one. We don’t know yet but I actually have that appointment next week. If our child is anything like you, they’ll definitely have a BIG appetite.

I think you mean our child because I know that it definitely took the both of us to get you pregnant. Were we trying? Or was it a surprise? Either way it’s awesome so don’t take the question badly.

Yeah...I really don’t understand this legal talk but I have a legal dictionary. Wow future me or should I say present me? I don’t know - is very smart.

Growing? Did I miss something more than what I’m already missing? I’d like to meet up we could drink some beer, talk, golf even if that’s your thing now. 

Uhh well, she’s pregnant. So that’s a thing that happened. I’d like that, too, Blaine. I don’t think I golf but I mean I know how so maybe? I should ask Quinn...don’t judges have like memberships and shit?

Oh well, sounds rather boring you’re right. Oh no, it’s okay. I have had a few lessons before and I was doing okay I would say. But I mean that is only because I myself had so many vocal lessons so I know how to give some. I would be so lost if I was doing something else..

For the most part. But someone has to do it, ya know? Well, it’s good you’re doing something that you already know how to do...I wish it was that easy for me. Maybe if I had gone into like...I don’t know.... something with comics.

Dave: Hey dude. I know things have been kind of awkward, but I was wondering if you and Quinn might want to come over this weekend? I was thinking even though you don't remember it, we could do something we used to do almost every weekend?

I meant more like worth to be written about in a book or as a script for a movie. You know something scandalous.

Tax evasion? Umm...stealing money... There is one I’m just starting that’s a murder case.

Well, I know Quinn is a patient and caring woman… She’d definitely help you fill in the blanks of the in between. But thank you. You actually know her… Mercedes Jones. And yeah, it is. It’s not something I thought I’d be doing fifteen years ago but… Honestly, I couldn’t imagine any other career. Even going to schools and teaching kids the importance of fire safety is pretty great.

Yeah man, if not we could always just meet up and talk about things. Perhaps I could write the life, times, and great impressions of Judge Evans? That may be a best seller. Who know! How have things been?  

I don’t know about all of that - though I do have amazing impressions. I would like to meet up and talk though. It’s been a while. Things have been okay. Quinn is growing more and more every day which is pretty awesome. How are things with you?
