Asexual Awareness Week Oct.27
So a lot of people seem to Have troubles with a person being pretty/cute/beautiful vs. a person being sexually appealing. Have they honestly never seen cute/pretty/beautiful babies, kids, animals, sunsets, sunrises, art pieces etc. They must have thought they were beautiful/visually appealing to them, and werenât sexually attracted to any of them... at least I hope not. Donât some females compliment other females on their female beauty? Yet now if you arenât sexual youâre beauty compliments need to be questioned? No wonder people donât want to compliment the same sex on looks anymore, they might be considered âgayâ if they do. Seriously, people need to start understanding that there is personal beauty in some things without them being sexual. an asexual or anyone really saying something is cute/pretty/beautiful shouldnât have a hidden sexual meaning. we mean exactly what we said, no hidden code of âchecking someone out/I want sex with that personâ. Â
A Genetic Survival game! I didnât even know I needed this! ^u^

Pray for Turkey
(I do not own the image  Twitter/@travelstart)
On Tuesday June 29, 2016, there was a terror attack in Turkeyâs Istanbul Ataturk Airportâthe most heavily trafficked airport in the country where most foreign flights come through. Three men first opened fire on the terminal entrance then all three set off suicide bombs. So far 41 people have died and at least 239 are injuredâ13 of those killed were foreigners or had dual citizenships.Â
This is the FOURTHÂ suicide bombing in Turkey since October.
While no one has claimed it thus far, there are strong indications that this was another bombing by ISIS.
In times like these we must realize that we cannot blame race, nationality, or even religion for such atrocities! As many of you probably know, we are in the month of Ramadan right now, which is the most PEACEFUL time in a Muslimâs year, so to blame religion simply does not make sense.
Instead, this is a time for us to fight terrorists by holding hands and helping one another up.
While there have been news reports about the bombing online, it isnât getting as much attention as any of the other bombings that occurred in Paris or Brussels. There arenât special filters on Facebook saying âPray for Turkeyâ or constant news coverage on TV.Â
Let me remind you:
ALL OF THESE ATTACKS HAVE RESULTED IN THE LOSS OF INNOCENT LIVES. THEY DESERVE THE SAME RESPECT AND COVERAGE AS ONE ANOTHER.
So please, reblog this so that hopefully those who are unaware can be informed and hopefully also send their thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families.

so it seems Iâm very late to be commenting about the abominable bride even if I watched the first airing of it. My only comment then, will be the references to the original stories was a nice touch :)
There is a âgameâ on steam that helps you learn up to about 400 words in the language of your choice. Which currently has about 16 languages to look at, with the plan to add more. I recommend looking into it if you are just starting out and would like an interactive way to expand your vocabulary and quiz yourself at the same time. Languages it currently has: Japanese,Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, English, French, Swedish, Bulgarian, German, Latin, Korean, Russian, Italian, European Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Finnish, and Norwegian.
Sorry I havenât Posted In awhile. Iâve recently played a game called transistor, and in my opinion a beautiful piece of artwork and gameplay. I would recommend trying it out!
Attractions,Questions, and More...Day(5) of Asexual Awareness Week
I thought i would try to help explain some Attractions, and provide a little Extra information at the end while Iâm at it. Attractions are important to look through and understand no matter your orientation.
Aesthetic Attraction is experiencing aesthetic attraction to one or more genders/sexes. It is not Sexual Attraction, It is simply appreciating a persons appearance. Though what does that mean?!?!
Aesthetic Attraction is like thiking, âWow,Beautiful/Handsome/Cute!â and being compelled to look that them. Itâs Similar to not being able to draw your attention away from a center of focus in an Art Piece. Itâs grabbed your attention and itâs been beautifully crafted!
A few people tend to confuse this with Aesthetic Recognition. which is recognizing someone is beautiful but not it experincing it internally. whether it be what society or someone else considers beauty you tend to experience it in a more dettached way. I may see a âprettyâ person, but will likely go home not to think of them again. Though with aesthetic attraction, key word attraction....I feel Compelled to to stare at them and continue to think of them later. Iâm sure you have a favorite cat or dog breed you like more than the others(attraction), but think that most cats or dogs are cute in general(recognition). Just like some people may not have a favorite breed(doesnât experience the attraction), but still knows a cat or dog is the pet they want, they just arenât experiencing a desire toward a paticular breed aesthetic.
Sexual Attraction is experiencing sexual attraction  to one or more genders/sexes. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
Iâm probably not the best person to answers this, though:
Sexual Attraction is seeing someone and wanting and imagining having sex with that pesron.Or your arousal is directed at a specfic person. If your are questioning if you are experiencing sexual attraction or not, you should consider looking into asexuality.since most people I talk to the attraction is CLEAR to them. they know what they are experiencing and have particular thoughts or fantasies about a person. Romantic attraction is not the same as sexual attraction! sex does not equal love, love does not equal sex! sooo....
Romantic Attraction is an attraction to desire a romantic relationship with One or more gneders/sexes. what does that mean?
Romantic Attraction is hard to explain, becuase it has to do with feelings and eveyone experiences it a little differently. Though instead of a physical attraction, it is heavily an emotional attraction, or to be emotionally intimate with someone. which romantic attraction is not the same as platonic attraction or friendship. Iâve felt both and they feel different, itâs just hard to put into words.
Sensual Attraction is an attraction to desire to interact with others in a tactile, non-sexual way. what does this mean?
Sensual Attraction is a desire or pull to be in close vicinity with another person. like sitting on a couch with your legs touching. You feel a need to be physically close to them but not in a sexual way, whether that includes hugging, cuddling, holding hands, kissing, etc. depends on the person experiencing the attraction.
Attractions can be experienced together or by itself either way is Ok!
Freebies/Bonus:
Emotional attraction:
the desire to get to know someone, often as a result of their personality instead of their physicality. This type of attraction is present in most relationships from platonic friendships to romantic and sexual relationships.
Intellectual attraction: the desire to engage with another in an intellectual manner, such as engaging in conversation with them, âpicking their brain,â and it has more to do with what or how a person thinks instead of the person themselves.
Queerplatonic Relationships (QPRs)
are those relationships that are not romantic in nature but they involve very close emotional connections that are often deeper or more intense than what is traditionally considered a friendship. Since there is not adequate language to describe queerplatonic partners, some people refer to these partners as zucchini.
Squish is a term used to identify aromantic crushes; the desire for a non-romantic/platonic relationship with another person.
.
Personal Questions:
How old were you when you started using the label asexual to describe yourself?
I was 19 when I first came across asexuality, but didnât apply it to myself till is was about 20.
What was it like growing up asexual in a world in which everyone is assumed to want sex?
Claustrophobic and Frustrating! I couldnât understand it, I felt alienated from my friends and my teachers. Where people just assume everyone can relate to this experience. I couldnât inderstand the jokes, i couldnât understand the drive to want sex. I didnât see how abstinence and celibacy was some hard conquest for people. I thought they were just sexually immature. it got to the point where  my friends Started questioning if i was actually gay or bi, instead of straight. which made me question if i actually was bi...not the best of times.Â
What is it like for you now, as an adult?
when i discovered asexuality i thought it couldnât be me i still experience attraction. anyways for awhile i eluded myself to being demisexual, til i finally had better understanding of my experiences and attraction. Itâs still frustrating! It seems like if you aren't a sexual person you don't get recognized in books, movies, or television. Media is no real comfort here, as it is rare to see anyone who even might be asexual. Most characters weren't human (think robots, aliens, and monsters),and usually their real or perceived asexuality was something to be cured or overcome. It also wasn't something you saw associated with anyone, unless of course you needed someone to thaw their frigid heart. So itâs like how you felt growing up, but mutiplyed. Itâs not likes an interest that someone has and you can avoid. Sex is everywhere in our culture whether it be media or in conversation. Youâre just stuck.

Day (4) of Asexual Awareness Week!Â
Recognizing Lack of Sexual Attraction!
This is very important! I personally know very well how someone can:
mistake one attraction or a mixture of attractions(whether it be aesthetic, romantic, sensual) and think that they are experiencing Sexual Attraction.Â
I wish i had initiated talking about sex more. So many assumptions would have revealed themselves so much sooner. Or would they? Maybe I just wasnât ready for it.
One of the things I notice is fact that asexuality is  being defined by the absence of something that to an asexual person, by definition not understand to begin with. The definition works for the sexuals. Though what about an internal definition? How do you acquire understanding to a term if you donât have something to compare it to? An asexual person who hears the official definition might not recognize themselves in it.
I had never even considered that I did not experience sexual attraction. Because, it did not occur to me that I was any different from everybody around me who talked and acted as if we were all experiencing this same thing. I figured I must have it; I have attraction to people, it must be sexual. And I always felt awkward and insecure, because in reality I didnât understand it, I didnât get it. It was almost completely mystical to me. I actually thought I was just a very mature Sexual waiting for marriage, and everyone else over exaggerated their desire for sexual relations. That I was obviously compelled to kiss or snuggle/hold hands with themâŚthat must mean Iâm sexually attracted to them. I just need to wait until the moment of intercourse to realize it. I didnât realize at the time that romantic attraction is not equal to sexual attraction nor is any other attraction, that they are completely different things. There was always a nagging question at the back of my mind, in all relationships, whether something sexual was happening or not. Always wondering â is this it? I like this person - does that mean that I want to have Sex with them? What was the magic formula by which people recognized this in each other?Â
Then you finally start asking people about sex and about what âsexual attractionâ actually meant to different people, and how they experienced it. And Iâm told that it is CLEAR to them, that it hits them suddenly and unmistakably, that they have specific sexual fantasies about the person they are attracted to, that itâs this amazing and magical pull, and so on. When I allowed for the option that this sexual attraction is just not something that I experience, it did wonders for my self-confidence. I feel much more at ease now to look at people, touch them, be open with them - and I know that however they want to interpret it, is their own business. Because I know where I'm coming from.
When Talking About Awareness it is about the asexual community as well. It is important to share experiences and help people who are questioning, with understanding the defintion. âCOLD HARD FACTSâ wonât get anyone anywhere.
