@forceseal /// Anonymous asked: What’s so special about Sheena? Why her when you know that you could have any woman that you want?
There’s only so many times he can take hearing the same damn thing.
‘She’s just a stupid country girl.’ ‘There’s nothing special about her.’ ‘She’s not good enough for you.’
What the fuck do they know? If anything, she’s too good for him. They’re all just being their usual shallow selves. They think all that money, all that status, pretty clothes and painted faces are what will win him over. He could feel his hands ball into fists but kept them firmly at his side. With his back still facing the one who had voiced such hideous, albeit repetitive questions. he allowed his face to contour into a snarl. A small part of him wanted to turn on his heel and run his sword through them for asking such inane things. It’s none of their business anyway-
But no, he took a calming breath and put on a smile before glancing over his shoulder at them. Yet there was an eeriness to it all. Like a calm before a storm.
“You wanna know why?” Then finally, he slowly dared to face them, walking over like a cat toying with a mouse it knows it has cornered. His pace slowed and his smile widened into a grin as he leaned in, hand instinctively on the handle of his blade and the other resting casually on his hip. After a moment just long enough to let discomfort seep in before speaking quietly with the hint of a threat lying underneath. “It’s because she’s better than any of you could even dream to be.”
Now he knew such a statement could be taken many ways. No doubt minds would immediately go to matters of the bedroom as his reputation would imply. Yet that just proves how shallow they all are. Though in saying that, he doesn’t doubt that when they do finally get to that point, the waiting will definitely be worth it but that was just one part of a very long list of reasons. And since he was in such a generous mood, he would list off a few more reasons just to make sure they never even think to ask such a stupid question a second time.
“You don’t even know her. Do you have any idea how much this world owes her?“ Of course they don’t. They couldn’t even begin to understand why Sheena was so essential. If she wasn’t on their side, the worlds could never have been reunited. Cruxis would keep running their sick game. But he can’t tell them that. Even if he could, they wouldn’t believe him. “Sheena is more than just a hot bod. She’s got brains too. Even you can understand the appeal of that, right? But what you all don’t seem to want to get through your thick heads is how fucking beautiful she is. You don’t want to look and see how gorgeous she is when she smiles, the way her entire face lights up. Or how deeply she cares, even when people reject her. Her strength is tenfold and if she can choose to either carry the burden or leave it, she’ll pick it up every damn time just so no one else has to suffer.”
As he recounts these traits, a fondness enters his eyes. A fondness so deep, so strong that he had never shown for the likes of anyone. A flicker of a genuine smile. “But you know what’s really amazing about her? She was willing to stick with me when no one else would. When everyone else left me to face everything on my own, she kept trying. Fuck, she still tries. She keeps sticking with me despite the hell I put her through. Despite what a fucking piece of shit I am, she still sees something worthwhile in me and she’s seen me at my lowest. She’s forgiven me for things I can’t even forgive myself for.”
But then any sight of his immense love for one Sheena Fujibayashi is tucked away again. They don’t deserve to even glimpse at it any longer. They don’t deserve anything if this is how they treat the strongest, kindest, most incredible woman he has ever known. Maybe they’ll never see. Maybe saying all this was pointless.
But it has been said, and he meant every word.
With an almost unnatural speed does he unsheathe his weapon and bring it close to their throat, a malicious grin accompanying his dangerous actions. “I don’t want to hear another fucking word about how I could do better ever again. Because she’s the best there is and although I don’t deserve her, she picked me.” His blade pressed ever so slightly against skin, showcasing his seriousness. “And if I do hear you slandering her again, I promise you, you’ll wish I had slit your throat.”
With that, his weapon is quickly put back by his side and he straightened. The grin he wore was less hostile, but by no means less eerie. He slapped his hand on their shoulder as if they were the closest of friends seeing each other after a long absence. “Glad we could sort that out. Now get out of my sight before I change my mind, mkay pumpkin?”
