It had been a fierce battle and to say that the swordsman was formidable - more so for a human - would have been an understatement. Even Road had to admit that, despite her own abilities, it had been a hassle to bring the man down, making her wonder from where exactly Kanda got his willpower and abilities - was it because of his past? The fact that he’s a second exorcist and overall tougher than your average human being?

The Noah watched delightfully as the pool of blood slowly increased in size, marking the loss of the exorcist as he lay there, his hair had turned light purple with the way the man had exceeded his limits; letting his Innocence feed on his life energy.An amused laughter filled the air as Road closed in on him and with her legs on each side of the man, she straddled him. One of her many candles in her hand and without hesitation, she started stabbing Kanda; right through his left eye. He wasn’t dead yet - on the verge of it - barely clinging to life, but that was not enough - he had to suffer more, much more. 

“That’s for Skinn!” Road had yelled at him as she stabbed him again, but this time the sharp tip went through his right cheek; leaving another hole upon the exorcist as she repeated the action, piercing through the swordsmans beautiful features - wrecking it beyond recognition.

She hadn’t forgotten what Kanda had done - the ones he had killed and she couldn’t forgive him, the Noah inside her could never forget it, seething with hatred towards the Innocence and the very man who had permanently stopped moving - stopped breathing.

“Ah, is that so? Maybe you aren’t scared because there is something wrong with your brain.”

  “Or maybe you are scared, because you are a pissbaby.”

  It was pathetic, how an exorcist, whose job was to fight Akuma, was such a scaredy cat. 

  “Let go of me, shithead. We need to find a place to sleep.” Kanda didn’t like the idea of having to spend the night there too, but at least he wasn’t so oblivious to their lack of alternatives. There was a house nearby and he decided to try his luck and ask for shelter, ignoring the dark and creepy vibe it emitted.

  Kanda broke free from Allen’s grip and approached the massive wooden door. Knock Knock. No answer. 

  “Nobody home, huh?” Dammit! He knocked again, but only silence answered him. Kanda turned around once again, observing their surroundings. It was getting rapidly darker and the fog was so thick, he could barely make Beansprout’s silhouette out, although the younger boy was only few steps away from him. 

  He had almost reached the Sprout again, trying to think of a way to escape this hopeless situation, as he heard a silent creak, coming from behind. The entrance of the house was now open, but there was no person standing in the frame.
