Regulus stole a deep intake of breath like a disappointed parent prepared to reprimand a child. He shook his head. He paced. He clicked his tongue several times and came to stand before Draco with his hands tucked neatly against the small of his back, rocking rhythmically on the balls of his feet;
“No? No, theft is no laughing matter—you see, whomever stole this particular item from me certainly won’t be laughing when I discover them.
“But I’m sure you had nothing to do with it, yeah? You’re a perfectly responsible person, with a fine upbringing and more than enough possessions of your own…”
Draco sighed. This was tiring him.
"You know, this stopped being funny minutes ago." He folded his arms over his chest and looked the other up and down.
"Of course I had nothing to do with it! It might be hard to believe but I actually have better things to do than looking through your oh-so-important stuff!" He would be lying if he said he wasn't getting mad. Who was this guy to think he could suspect him like that?

Draco spotted the man in the crowd. He had seen him before though it took him a while to figure were. Right. HYDRA. His grey eyes were set on the man as he made his way towards him. Just a few meters away he stopped in his tracks. What the other would flee? He was probably on the run, given his nervous expression. For a few moments, the blonde thought about it before he eventually kept walking. Cautiously.
“Need help?” His voice was quiet in order not to startle the stranger too much.

“why is it that you always resort to mudblood when you’ve run out of things to say? Can’t get more creative with your insults anymore?” Hermione shot back at him already putting her things away so she could get going
Draco huffed and shook his head. Yes. He had run out of arguments but not even in a dream he’d admit that.
He shook his head, watching Hermione pack her stuff. “Yeah now leave, mudblood! Afraid something could happen, eh? Running away is what your type can do best.” He crossed his arms, squinting his cold eyes together a bit.

Do-Overs and Unshaken Hands

Harry was supremely self-conscious about all of this, and the cold welcome didn’t help. For all that McGonagall had said about how your House would be like your family, he felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. Then again, he felt like that often with the Dursleys so maybe that’s just a family thing.
Draco’s steely eyes felt like they were trying to burn a hole in him, and his weren’t the only pair. Up where the headmaster and all the professors sat, he noticed the long-bearded old man from the chocolate frog card - the headmaster. The old man seemed to be staring intently at him, but he couldn’t tell what the expression held. Some other professors had been looking his way earlier but he hadn’t noticed them in time.
Back to the matter at hand, he knew from his years in primary school that making enemies where you have to potentially sleep in close proximity to wasn’t a good idea. “So. What happened on the train makes this entirely awkward, but at the same time you were rather rude to my friend,” he decided to continue with. “Which was why I was…not exactly civil back.“
Draco sighed. He wanted to be nice to the boy but at the same time, something in him told him not to. It took him some time before he spoke up again. “I was just trying to protect you.” He now turned to look fully at Harry. “This Weasley family isn’t a good company.” Draco sounded way too sure of what he was saying. “My family, the Malfoys, are good company. Believe me.”
Now even a smile crept onto his thin lips. His father would be proud. He is in the same house as Harry Potter. He has a chance to remake his mistake on the train. He can befriend the boy who lived.
Crabbe and Goyle, who were sitting on the other side of him, looked almost a bit confused as they watched the conversation going but Draco chose to ignore them. He had to become friends with this scrawny black-haired boy now.

Draco huffed. He believed her that he had ink on his face, since he had a habit of tapping his quill against his chin when thinking, but he was way too proud to give in and check now. “Think you’re funny, what Granger? I guess mudbloods have a different - bad - kind of humor.” For this comment he earned a laugh and nudge from Crabbe and Goyle, sitting beside him.

Amelia’s green eyes flashed dangerously. Any sign of her cocky demeanor vanished instantly the second Draco’s words filled the air. Whether he was referring to her biological father or her adoptive father was uncertain but nevertheless it was clearly more than enough to enrage her.
“Mention my Dad again and I’ll take your stupid drumstick and shove it up your arse.”
Draco’s grin widened. If there was anything he was good at, it was upsetting people - and he knew for sure that every Potter would get furious when you’d mention their father. "Oh please, Potter. You wouldn’t want to threaten me like that, would you?” He raised his eyebrows, tapping 'Prefect’ pin on his chest with a smug grin on his lips.
