This is my signature tree. The Forage Workshop tree that many of my designs are based around. Sometimes I add birds, or snow or foliage. Sometimes a heart goes on the trunk, with initials or without. A little sign proclaiming a holiday or a date or a name maybe. Sometimes it’s a combo of many of those things. But this is the base model, before anything gets added. Hello! It’s been a while since I have posted. I’ve been caught up in the world of peak bloom at the iris garden. As you may or may not know, I am one of the gardeners @presbyirisgardens and we have had one of our best blooms in years! Over the weekend the wind and rain knocked a few of our irises over and rather than let this beauty go to waste I brought it home to rest in one of our wood turned and glass vases. I was sitting in bed last night thinking how long it had been since I had seen the stars. As someone who goes to sleep early, it had been longer than I could remember. So I got up, went out my front door and looked up. Right above me through a hole in the tree canopy was the Big Dipper. I smiled and went back to bed promising myself that it won’t be so long between star gazes again. I actually saw every single one of these woodpeckers in my yard this week, which is kinda a big deal because that red headed is pretty elusive. The last time I saw him was 10 years ago! 😳 top to bottom, left to right, we have the downy, the hairy, the red bellied, the red headed, the northern flicker and the pileated.
