fun fact: all of these were drawn with an orange colouring pencil! I just made the pics grayscale and bumped up the contrast slightly :]

This was supposed to just be a sketch. However, I wanted to take the opportunity to experiment with a new colouring style, so this piece was quite the challenge! And I quite like how it turned out :D

The process for this piece was an unusual one. Everything I initially coloured got changed in the final version. Here's the speedpaint (SLIGHT FLASH WARNING because I fiddle with the layer settings a few times) :

I initially got fixated on the fact that slobgollion was comparable to infrared light, so I wanted the gown's colours to resemble infrared imagery.

However, at some point, i double-checked the Wiki and saw that slobgollion is "between Irrigo and Gant," so I had to correct it all. (I kinda miss the funky colouring, but it resembled Cosmogone a little too much)

aaand a few bonus warmup sketches of both the Academic, and your Pages design :)

This was an excellent challenge! I rarely do digital paintings, so this was a step out of my comfort zone ^^'

I figured - If I'm already painting this from scratch, I might as well sprinkle some Fallen London themed easter eggs in the painting :)

So you know how the Masters were banished to the Neath, and they truly *were* predator-like in the High Wilderness, but when they got smited because of their bat sins - they turn nearly human-sized and have more "down to earth" features?

That means we can canonically get the best of both worlds :)
