I am a new rp account for Furina, from Genshin Impact. I recently got through the AQ for Fontaine and her story quest, and have absolutely fallen in love with this lonely Archon. I am NOT spoiler-free, as Furina herself is a walking spoiler after the AQ.

Glancing at her surfboard through the corner of her eye, Mualani laughed. "Oh, this old guy? (Well, not actually very old..) Don't pay it any mind. Works well in combat and normal surfing. ... And don't worry, it won't hurt you legitimately unless I infuse it with a little bit of Phlogiston! Otherwise, it's just for visual purposes that it bites. No harm done!"
Anyway, with an understanding nod and shrug, Mualani agreed. "Of course! I hope I'll be up to your standards as a surfing instructor!" she grinned, leaning on her surfboard lightly. "I'll meet you by the waves, then!" Mualani whipped out a small map and marker, marking out where they were currently (her home) and then tapping her chin to think. Finishing her intense thinking, Mualani nodded, marking out a specific corner not too far from the tribe but not close enough to be as densely populated.
"Alright," she began, handing Furina the mini map, "We can meet here. Pretty diverse spot in terms of waves! There, I can figure out what your skill level is so far so we can go from there!" Mualani then nodded, tucking the marker back into a pocket somewhere or whatever. "Go ahead! I'll be there first trying out some of the waves and making sure the area isn't too dangerous! "
"By the way, your name is Furina, right? Just want to clarify that. I've heard about you! Not much, I would say, as Natlan is pretty closed off in comparison to the outer world, but enough to know your name at the least, miss!"
"A surfboard in combat...well! And here I had thought I'd seen mostly everything, but that is certainly a surprise," a pleased giggle left her, Furina shelving her question for later. She had heard of Phlogiston, but that was about it...but now wasn't the time to ask about it!
"I'll have to ask more about it, later!" Still, she did speak up regardless, gratefully taking the map. "And, thank you. Hopefully we get a good amount of waves. Seeing how I handle a variety of them would give you a good idea of how skilled I am!" a pause, then a nod.
"As for that...yes, Furina. Furina du Fontaine, though it's really just Furina, now. And indeed...we don't know much about Natlan ourselves, all the way back in Fontaine. In any event! I will meet you by the waves, miss Mualani!"
Furina went on to speak, and Itto smiled broadly, his eyes almost glistening. By the time she mentioned creating water dance, he was already captivated. His mind instantly pictured a huge arena with waves crashing spectacularly as Furina sailed across the surface, water creatures swirling around her like actors in a grandiose performance. His enthusiasm was almost tangible.
— Whoa! You can dance on water? That sounds like something worth seeing!— Itto yelled, bending slightly closer, his enormous presence all the more commanding in this cramped area. — I mean, give it some thought! You would definitely outperform all the competitors, and the Arataki Gang could use someone like that! — Although he spoke loudly, his tone was one of sincere admiration.
As he spoke, his hands were making erratic motions that conjured up images of a spectacular performance. — We could turn it into an occasion! Yes! Imagine the Supreme Water-Dancer Furina and the All-Powerful Arataki Itto! The audience would go crazy!
"M-My! You're rather close, don't you think?" she yelped out, even putting her hands up, open palms facing him, as she leaned back just a bit. A reflexive action more than anything; she knew he had no ill intent. That was just...that was how this man was. Brash, abrasive. But full of energy and charm.
No wonder he drew people to him.
"Anyway! Yes, I suppose I could. It has been quite some while since I danced, however, so I'm unsure exactly how good I would be at it now..." she trailed off, thinking for just a moment. Her dancing had stopped right when her position had really started to get to her. She had felt too...constrained.
But now things were the opposite for her. "That said! I'll certainly be thinking about it! And what grandiose titles for the both of us, I quite like it, ehehe! How often do you hold these...celebrations of yours, exactly? I might check in the next time one is going on."
Hu Tao gave the ex-archon a perplexed expression. Was she nervous around the cat? Of course her fear of the mentioned ghost was understandable. Then again who was she really to judge? Regardless the dark furred feline made another meow at Furina as if trying reassure her once it was in her arms. Perhaps if the director wore something different than her usual attire she would be able to pick up on such a fashion mishap?
"See...she already likes you ~"
With that Tao softly smiled at Furina listening to her explain her ideas for the upcoming play. "Oh! Well it does makes sense to want a bit more variety. It would be like me writing the same style of poem over and over again. It would get rather boring pretty fast"
She brunette watched as the cat now started to playfully climb upon Furina. Honestly she couldn't help but chuckle at the antics. "A play based around Liyue? You certainly came to the right place. Especially when we have a consultant that know quite a lot of the history here." she explained then walking over to a nearby shelf filled with an array of books.
"You're always welcome to check out some of these here to get sources of inspiration, unless you want to talk to that walking encyclopedia," she bemused. Still this was a tale specifically about the traveler. Hu Tao took a moment to recall any sort of personal experience she had with them.
"Let's see...we want something other than a horror play. Well, I suppose it depends on your mood. We can do something uplifting like the Lantern Rite festival or we could go a bit more thought provoking and melancholy. For example, that one medical case that took place around Bubu Pharmacy," she latter making her voice trail off for a bit just before that usual smile crept its way back.
She did make a gesture toward the feline "Y'know those are pretty common around Liyue harbor. Perhaps she would make a guest appearance~"
"She does indeed like me a lot," Furina conceded with a slight sigh, and a rueful shake of her head. Obviously, she didn't mind the feline, not at all. She kept glancing between it and Hu Tao, in fact, mind wandering. A pet of her own...perhaps she ought to invest in that. It would certainly stave off loneliness while traveling.
Furina did her best to let the cat climb upon her as Hu Tao spoke, a sheepish smile on her face. Sure, she wanted to get along with it, but the clothes were expensive...! "A consultant...oh! Would that be Mr. Zhongli? I believe I met him during the recent Lantern Rite! He did seem quite knowledgeable..." she trailed off, gingerly stepping towards the books, doing her best to not disturb the cat.
"That said, consulting the books...yes, that might be the best thing to do first. As for the mood, I thin-" she paused as the cat meowed again, just after Hu Tao's gesture towards her.
"You know, you might be right. It wouldn't do to leave her out of this! We'll have to figure out a grand part for her to play," a giggle from the ex-archon, then...
"I'm partial to an uplifting play! I want to show the people of Liyue exactly the sort of person I am, and there's no better way to do it. That said, a case around a pharmacy? What happened...?"

"Of course! Your last play was a horror one, was it not?" Hu Tao asked with a slight tilt of her head. If not that theme adding the ghostly familiar among the cast would a potential story a sense of mystery and perhaps some playfulness. The director did pick up on Furina's concerned tone.
"Not to worry though. I will be sure Boo keeps out of too much trouble. That's if one day you will consider casting them in one~"
With that the mortician of Liyue glanced down at the cat. With a soft smile she realized this was one of those few moments to enjoy in life. As fleeting as it may be. "I've always believed that animals have a good sense of intuition, and it was your presence that lured this one out of hiding." she added affirmingly.
Ah! Yes...she had become so distracted she forgot that Furina had traveled all the way from Fontaine with a purpose in mind. Once more the ex-archon was requesting props from the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. Hu Tao couldn't help but chuckle.
"Aiyaaa..stubborn as ever, Miss Furina," she teased reaching down to pick up the feline. In that same move she would attempt to hand over creature to the other woman. An attempt to become more acquainted or even soothe her anxieties.
Keeping her question in mind Hu Tao glanced around the parlor for any ideas. She remembered the new shipment of caskets in the storage area. Of course there was her ritual tools, including decorative bowls where incense and joss paper were burned. Vases of white and yellow qingxin decorated the shelves of the room they were in. Upon the desk nearby was a half made bouquet of silk flowers next to the usual stack of funerary coupons.
"Well, I can't make you change your mind about the discount, but I will still offer it on the table regardless. Anyways what props have you decided on this time around? Or more so...I would love to know more about the upcoming play."
"Ah..." Furina tried to speak up, eyeing the cat as she was presented with it. It wasn't the fact that she was scared of the cat, but more so...she was scared of the fur. She glanced down at her outfit, then glanced back at the cat. Gazing at her, expectantly. She bit her lip, eyes darting to Hu Tao.
Then, she let out a sigh and gently took the cat off her plate, trying her best to not pay attention to any fur coming off the furball. "Ahem...yes. The last play was horror. Which! Is why I must do something different, this time. The same thing time after time gets stale!" she, rather absentmindedly, began to stroke the cat here.
"This...feline truly does seem enamored with me," she mused, as Hu Tao glanced around the room. The cat in question doing her best to try to climb on Furina, onto her shoulder even, though the ex-archon managed to stop that. She certainly didn't want, say, her head getting crawled upon, after all!
"In any case...mmh. I was thinking of doing a play based off of one of the Traveler's adventures? Perhaps something that happened in Liyue. I assumed you would know a tale or two, given you're from Liyue, so any props that give off that Liyue energy would work!"
Uh oh.
Did she come off too strong with that?.
''Umm..'', she waits till the sound of apparent giggles cease to be before coming to term with the previous words of shared to Furina.
''Actually, Paimon was going to get to that'', but decidedly, that did not neccessarily go all too well, other then wanting to make amend with her past behavior towards somebody that struggled for so long to maintain this theatrical facade of an Archon.
''I just wanted to set this aside first'', so it does not linger, this feeling of amendment, even if the other might not see it that way.
Camping places did tend to be situational, dependent of the nation visited. ''I would say to get first acquainted with weather hazards and wilderness guide books. Sumeru the most, its home to fluctuating temperatures in the desert and the rainforest. Some areas in the woods rain more than others. I would also advise to make a stop to Gandharva Ville, the rangers have plenty of survival guides up for purchase''.
''For the most part, Paimon would not recommend setting encampment next to damp areas or anywhere near animals that may have marked territory''.
"Oh? I should have known you'd get to it. You are the Traveler's guide, after all. How foolish of me to think you'd just leave it there," the ex-archon mused, a pleased look on her face. Some might find that odd, a smile coming so easily to her for no true reason. But she found she enjoyed little talks like this.
Talks with no theatrics, no preamble. Where she could just be...Furina. Learning her own way in the world. And so, she was grateful to Paimon for being willing to help teach her. "Let's see..." that said, she was still acting like an oddball, having produced a pencil and paper from somewhere on her person. Utensils she was putting to use right away as Paimon spoke.
"Weather hazards...temperatures...rain in the woods. Gandharva Ville. And no damp areas or wild animals..." she was mumbling to herself as Paimon spoke, and writing also.
"I do believe I've got all of that, my dearest Paimon. I have to thank you!" another small giggle, before she paused to speak again. "This exchange of information...it doesn't feel fair when you're the only one sharing. Is there anything you'd like to ask of me, I wonder?"
At Furina's reaction, Arataki Itto smiled widely, obviously pleased with himself for surprising her. He winked at her and puffed out his chest, utterly unfazed by her composed manner. — Well, Madame Furina, the well-known figure here, well, well, well! — Clearly enjoying the moment, he used exaggerated flair to emphasize her title.
His eyes glinted mischievously as he paused for dramatic effect, tapping his chin thoughtfully before leaning in. — It must be something epic, isn't it? I bet you have some crazy secret technique that allows you to make the water dance or something. Or perhaps you could conjure a massive tidal wave that would silence the audience! He spread his arms wide, imitating the imagined wave. Indeed! That's it! Something completely extraordinary!
"M-Madame Furina? Oh please, oh please. I'm nothing so grand as that! Not a-anymore! Just Furina will do...!" she squeaked out, flushing at the flourish. This man...he was larger than life, wasn't he? Like how she was, in a lot of ways. Grandoise. Speaking loudly. And always knowing how to please a crowd (even if it was just the two of them right now).
And his next words...they were rather bold, too!
"Making water dance...conjuring a tidal wave? My oh my! You have quite the imagination. Good, good! Sadly, things of that nature are probably more Neuvillette's abode than mine," she admitted with a shake of her head. "That said...I do have water-based familiars that are rather stunning. Beautiful. And they can dance atop the water," she paused to think. "On that note, I suppose I could dance atop the water myself, too."
"Oh, that's right," she remarked placing her hand thoughtfully under her chin "I almost forget that many have seem him. But you know what...perhaps they would make a great addition to one of your next plays?"
The director did understand Furina's predicament about needing to keep up her reputation. A lot was expected from the two of them in each of their respected positions. Just as she was about to comment of course the elusive stray had to make their appearance.
A playfully approving purr in reply to having its fur softly pet. It wasn't long until its bright yellow eyes were fixated on the bag of treats Hu Tao had been enticing him with.
"Aiyaa. It was nothing. I just put myself in the cat's position. Of course I would come out of hiding if there was some delicious snacks~" she bemused taking a single lotus crisp out of the bag and placing it on the floor next to the feline. Within seconds it began to nibble on the flaky pastry, all the while batting at it as if it were a toy as well.
A mental note was made to clean up the mess later.
"There's no need to be sorry, Miss Furina. In fact, I think it was your presence that helped find them. You got that sort of magnetism, y'know?"
"A ghost as part one of my p-plays?" Furina questioned, shuddering as she thought about it. She knew. She knew that this 'Boo' was probably well-behaved, given he was attached to Hu Tao and all that. But at the same time, a ghost was a ghost! It was still a scary thought!
"I-I-In any event. You truly believe I helped that much, hm? Well! I appreciate that, although I admit I don't feel I did much," she let out a giggle and a shake of her head, smiling down at the feline. "Ahhh...animals are truly precious, aren't they?"
"Now then! We can perhaps get back to the original reason why I came to see you? The props I'd like to buy from you! At this point, though, I don't think I'm much deserving of a discount, no matter how much you might think my magnetism played a part in finding your lost feline."
Looking Furina up and down, still, with great interest, Mualani's small smile widened excitedly. Well, it wasn't everyday you got to work with the Hydro Archon! "Alright! Well, I'm not where you heard that I'm the best, but I'm real flattered!"
"Also, obviously, my services cost Mora, but more than anything, I want to see what you can do!" Mualani nodded before closing her eyes and tapping her chin thoughtfully. "Hm.." Snapping her fingers, Mualani's eye shot open. "5,000 Mora per day? Seems about a fair price! But I think we can nail a ton of stuff down if you already have the basics!"
"Anyway, you can pay now or later! That's all up to you. But first of all, I want to see what you can do, yeah?"
"So come on! Lets go hit the waves. You got a surfboard on you?" Mualani tilted her head quizzically at Furina before whipping out her own surfboard with the flick of her wrist. Holding it by its nose, Mualani paid her sharky surfboard(which is still an inanimate object..) no mind as it chomped at the air, opening and closing its mouth.
"Oh, my!" Furina hadn't expected the surfboard to be...alive(?), to say the least. She wasn't entirely sure what it was. Just that it was generally confusing. She stared at it for a few moments before shaking her head in bemusement. "A-Ahem. Yes! 5,000 Mora is perfectly acceptable," she was happy that Neuvillette provided quite the stipend for her.
"And I think I will pay afterwards. After all, I haven't seen your quality for myself yet. What other people say is all well and good, but I will judge you on my own standards! As for the matter of my board, well. Yes I do have one, but I obviously can't just carry it around with me. So I left it with one of your fellow people, at a nearby shop. They said they would watch over it for me!"
"So, if you would allow me to retrieve it, I could meet you over by the water, miss Mualani!"

''I know i've been, umm, offputting and rude before, a bit guarded i guess but really, if you just want to talk, then it don't matter all that much if i am in the middle of something or not''.

In truth, its not a first time hearing this but its neither something Paimon would want on anyone, especially the fainthearted. But advices?, hm....
She falls silent, moving arms as to ponder that kind of detail.
''The biggest rule of traveling Paimon can give you, is to watch who you're speaking with, analyze the situation, study the person's ticks to see if they're hiding something or its genuine'', goodness how many shady people they've encountered since day one.
''But with your own acting experience, i don't see you struggling to read someone else's intentions. Well anyone who is not a friend of Paimon's'', and usually, they are pretty recognizable and colorful than a typical citizen.
"Oh...oh! Oh no no no no, my, hahaha," she giggled, shaking her head with a bright smile on her face. "No, that isn't what I meant, my dear Paimon, although it is good advice. I do know how to handle myself when it comes to people! And what they might be planning," she took a few more moments to stop her giggling.
"No, I meant, when traveling out in the wilderness, what should I do? Where do I set up camp...what sorts of foods do I eat? Those sorts of things. I really do appreciate the advice you just gave to me, however!"
Itto smiled broadly, his face lighted up with his signature self-assured grin. — What do you mean troublemaker? I suppose I do have that kind of look, it's my charm. However, don't be fooled by the horns! — With his hands on his hips, he proudly puffed up his chest. — We all want to have a good time, have crazy parties, and lend a hand when we can. You know, you have to keep things exciting.
— Aaaah, you're Furina de Fontaine, very famous, you made me feel totally privileged. You should attend one of our parties and show off your talent.
"Your charm? Ah, I...see," she could see the charm, even if it was taking a bit of getting used to for her, to say the least. He certainly had energy! So much so that she couldn't help but let out a giggle. "I see. Minus the crazy parties, you remind me of someone I know. And ahhh...y-yes. Yes I am," she hadn't expected him to recognize her name.
That was...probably bad of her, to expect him to be uncultured just because of his attitude and looks. "Oh? And what talent do you think I would be showing off?"

took a bit longer getting through 5.1 than I would have liked to. But, I'm through it now. So expect replies here very soon.
Also 5.1 got VERY bleak, man.

Oh absolutely. She'd probably insist that she doesn't and be embarrassed about it, but still get sucked into shopping there anyway, at least if she were in a modern setting.
In spite of her social charm and ability, absolutely. She doesn't think of herself as a desirable person, or the sort of person people would even want to have a relationship like that with. Plus for the longest time, she had a secret she had to keep to herself, and she believes that in a relationship, there shouldn't be any dire secrets like that.
She would have, absolutely no way of knowing what is and isn't a good oc, and would probably end up making an oc similar to herself. That just, got everything she herself wanted and that could do anything.
Mostly in the way that she doesn't know how to react when challenged! We all saw how she was when the Traveler argued against her and put her on the backfoot, she had no idea what to do, despite her age and status!
And of course, gotta round it out with this. With her age, she probably would find dad jokes to be hilarious, even if no one else has the heart to tell her they aren't.

"Indeed it is!" Hu Tao chimed with a smile. The director always held up her ghostly familiar in beloved high regards. "I always thought such an adorable name was quite fitting ~"
It was true that Hu Tao didn't get into many altercations. Or rather she didn't go looking for them. Yet, still she did have to teach herself some defensive strategies just in case.
"Most of the time Boo is there to assist with the younger souls that may have got lost. Hence why they don't look too frightening. Right?" she asked inclining her head some. Then again this was a spectre they were talking about. Hu Tao had to remind herself that not everyone was as use to spiritual activities and haunts like she was.
The director couldn't help but laugh at Furina's outburst upon hearing the feline. "Aiya...you shouldn't have to hold back such excitement, my dear idol. Of course its natural to feel happy when you are on the right track ~" she responded in a reassuring tone.
Hu Tao made a thoughtful hum as she looked around the room to find something that may entice the cat in coming out of her hiding place. Her gaze caught something upon a nearby desk. "Maaaybe" there was definitely some fontainian like gears turning in that head of hers. She picked up a to-go container of lotus flower crisps she previous brought back from the tea house and gave it a slight shake.
Another meow was heard.
Right, this should work. She slowly made her way around the room making the occasional pspsps along with a few more soft shakes of the treats.
Oh this certainly did work. After a while a black furred feline crept its way into the study where both girls were at. A purr was their only warning to Furina before it rubbed the side of its body against her lower legs, the tail even making a playful linger wrap against one of them as it wove in and out. It seemed that the stray had deemed the ex-archon to be a friend after all.
"I have, ah, yet to see this B-Boo for myself, so I can't comment on how cute the...s-specter is," try as she might to hide her apprehension about the ghost, Furina just couldn't. not at all. How could she be so casual about the fact that ghosts existed!? Hu Tao certainly had an iron will when it came to such things, or at least that was what Furina thought.
"And well, yes. Perhaps. But I have a reputation! I can't just go getting excited like that for the mildest of things! Although...perhaps you have a point," she admitted, eyes still scanning the room. At least, up until Hu Tao's efforts. "Of course!" she should have thought of that! Though, feline wrangling wasn't exactly a talent of hers.
In any event, it worked amazingly! In spite of Furina's words about her having a reputation, the ex-archon knelt down, a bright smile already on her face as she reached out to gingerly stroke the cat. "Well! Hello there, you little sneak! Good thinking with those, Hu Tao! Although, apologies for not being much help myself with finding her."
''I'm not busy'', she cuts right to the chase with that.
While true that she would always stay a pair with the blonde traveler, Paimon nowadays was slowly getting used to this feeling of seperation.
And to be real, its gotten better.
Adventuring huh?.
There is a contemplative look in galaxy hues, with a mixture of fondness.
''Its always been grueling since the first day, for us atleast but..'', a pause, if to collect her thoughts on the topic. ''But Paimon wouldn't trade those memories, these friendships for anything in the world'', wheter the bad or good that comes out of wandering Teyvat with Lumine.
To meet so many people, to forge bonds, that is one thing the pixie will never exchange.
''There's still so much out there too''.
"Ah, you aren't? In that case, we might be able to extend this talk a bit more, then," Furina said with a giggle, a pleased smile on her face. Even now she was worried about being a burden, or a waste of someone's time. But if Paimon was so sure about it...
So, she listened, noting how Paimon looked, how she spoke. "It's clear you have a love for adventuring. And a love for the bond the two of you forged with one another. It's enough to make one envious!" a pause of her own, just for a moment.
"As you may know, I've been...venturing forth myself. I have no real clue what I'm doing. I don't quite know if I qualify as an adventurer, but I understand your feelings, to a degree. Is there...any advice you could give? I'd appreciate anything you could offer."
