I picked it because overall it has a very simple minimalistic design, that doesn't draw away too much attention from the content, but not being too simple that it becomes boring.

Currently attempting to add a "lightbox" effect for my photography, and failing miserably. I'm not so good with Javascript and CSS!

A fun tutorial!

Today we were discussing how we could use animation and photo editing software for our next assignment. Depending on the style that we wish our website to follow, animation is an option that can be added for the sake of it's narrative.  The different software that was particularly interesting to me was a stick figure animator, that could provide a simple alternative than actually animating professionally. There were also examples of using a morphing software, but I can't think of how I could apply that sort of feature in any sort of story that I may come up with soon.

Today we used the behaviour function on dreamweaver to create a light effect on a house image! We used photoshop to make the images that replace the original window portions. This might be useful for my next assignment.

1st: This is where you start! 2nd: You've encountered a boar! When you click the boar, it will give you more information about it through Wikipedia. 3rd: You've encountered a strange flower! If you pick the wrong option in either the boar or the flower, it will lead you to a page to tell you that you've failed, and that you need to start over. But if didn't, you've essentially succeeded!

For our second assignment, we had to include a contact form at our final page. Unfortunately, I was unable to get it working. After several attempts, trying different sources for a contact form, I kept getting the same result, getting redirected to the script file of a .php file.  Happy that I got the rest of my pages working, despite this little setback!

DREAMWEAVER:  A basic review of what we know how to do on Dreamweaver, which includes creating a site on there to facilitate getting images/pages quickly. Creating a table as an easier alternative to dividers, and also using them to create parts/buttons on your website Also we discussed the concept of javascript, if we decide to have a sense of interactivity within our projects. On several sites, they provide javascript codes to add functions like rollover images, or blur effects. We also discussed how to add audio and video to our website! Although I don't particularly find the need to do that in the future, because I find that audio on websites is annoying. It simply consists of adding an embed code to the body section of your code. On YouTube, they give you and option to view an embed code for the video you are watching, as an alternative to sharing it.

In the tutorial, we learned again how to make/use image maps, but on dreamweaver. Which is a LOT easier. It's just a matter of creating an image and creating a line around it to identify which part of the image you would like to be a link.

Proximity and space could be used as a tool to create a focal point. Alignment could assist with this also and also provide organisation for your website/project.

RGB (Red, Green, Blue) are the main colours used in a digital display, and directly relates to the primary colours.  CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Kohl) are the colours used when printing and ink on paper. I don't really understand what the difference would be if they were to print off with different colours though. The difference between a JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) file and a GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) file is that the compression differs from each other. GIF formats might be easier to use as they allow a user to have an image with a richer quality for a smaller file size, while for a JPEG file, it's best when it's a larger image. Internal Style sheets are the ones we've been using in class, but there is also a way to have an External Style sheet, to provide a style sheet for a number of files without having to repeat the code internally.

I changed my mind last minute about my Design Assignment (Luckily, I like spending my time coding for hours!) I decided to pixilate a picture of an axolotl using photoshop and recreating it through HTML.  The meaning behind this is that this lovely creature is the symbol for Asexuality (despite it not reproducing asexually).  I'll explain it in further detail in my 500 word plan.

Overall, the idea of creating an interactive space, where it combines online and real environments seems to be an overlooked or under appreciated technology.
