Happy Happy

The sunlight was creeping in through the tinted windows of the limo. Music was lightly playing on some trendy pop station, and Eunhee was haphazardly playing with Yoohyeon’s hair. The mood could be described as relaxed. Few words were being exchanged as to not ruin the quiet atmosphere the two had made for themselves. Eunhee sighed, knowing the mood was going to change as soon as they arrived at the club opening. It was going to be loud and paparazzi and reporters were going to be everywhere. She was hoping to have fun with them tonight. Rumors broke out that the two girls were dating. They even had a couple name- the ‘Flower Couple’. Eunhee thought it was cute,  but ridiculous. She wanted to make the most of the attention, and do as much fan service as she could with the Yoohyeon.

Eunhee continued playing with the younger girl’s hair, until the limo came to a stop. “Seems like we’re here.” Eunhee mumbled, a but disappointed to untangle herself from the other girl. She quickly checked her makeup in the window, using it as a makeshift mirror. She wasn’t completely satisfied with how she looked, but then again when was she ever. She did a slight frown before looking at the other girl, “You ready for tonight?” She questioned. The driver then quickly opened the door, motioning for the girls to step out. Eunhee stepped out first, she fixed the wrinkles on her dress, before she helped Yoohyeon out of the limo. Linking arms with the other girl, Eunhee began to wave to the crowd. Loud screams could be heard in all directions.

He stopped in the middle of her sentence, forgetting that the sugar sack he was holding  was placed downwards, making the small crystals fall on his plate instead of his mug. Blinking, like a confused animal, he tried to take in what she said. Did she…did she just said that he was a girl?

He stared at her for a while, the color leaving his face in a slow pace. Mark was cool with many things but if there was something he truly hated is comparing him to a girl. His biggest insecurity, something that followed him from the day he was born, was regarding his androgynous appearance. And was something haters kept bringing back just to mess with him.

“- Y-You think I’m…a perfect girl?” he gave her a gentle smile, disguising the annoyance. She was bold,he had to give her that. Since the ‘Most Beautiful Faces of Asia’ issue no one dared to say this, at least not on his face. 

“- I think that beautiful girls are more like you and less like me.I mean, you are really beautiful woman after all.” Comments like how beautiful he was and how attractive he was always came but few people actually called him manly. In fact he even started to ask for a much less softer look and an edgier, rougher appearance. “- Actually I think that I’m more manly than pretty. I receive a lot of compliments for  my jawline.” >

Just your damn words,I’m no girl.

He thought while still holding a small smirk, making his eyes crinkles for a bit.

Eunhee eyed the falling sugars, a confused look forming on her face.She hummed, trying to fill in the silence that suddenly filled the room. She continued to stare at the boy, waiting for a reaction, but all he did was stay silent. 

Her eyes wouldn’t sit still. They looked all over the room, dancing from corner to corner, looking everywhere but mostly at the boy in front of her. She was scared she said something wrong, something that would make this event go wrong. She anxiously started to scratch her inner forearms, the skin turning a bright shade of red. 

A sigh of relief escaped her lips when she heard the other boy talk. She didn’t care what he was saying, she was just glad the silence was over.  “Ah, cute,” She smiled, “Yes! You’re modest too? “ She laughed, covering her mouth quickly with her hand.

“Hmm..No?” She questioned pointing to her nose, “I’m not natural. I’m fake, like a child’s doll.” She then pointed her finger in the boy direction, “You look natural. It’s refreshing, it’s cute, it’s feminine.” Her finger then started to trace the air right above the outline of his jaw. “I don’t really see a masculine jaw line. It fades out with all your other features.” Her hand returned to her lap, sighing. “Masculinity really doesn’t suit you.”

Eunhee x Beltane

Beltane, like Imbolc and Ostara, is a spring fertility celebration. Of the three Beltane is the final. It traditionally marks the beginning of summer.

She seemed nice enough, it was a good thing. He wasn’t in the mood for any backstage drama lately and he could take the opportunity as the chilling moment he so desperately needed. “- Oh, I know silhouette. Great songs! ’Hush’ used to be my go-to-song .”  He smiled and gave her a thumbs up.

“-Oh yes, that’s a very nice place.One of my hyungs introduced it to me, the coffee is great but the privacy is what really made it special: what happens here, stays here. It’s a great spot to just…be yourself.”  His lips lifted upwards, making his shy dimples appear for a glimpse crinkles, showing his perfectly aligned teeth.

He tried to keep it cool with her, but the long stares she gave him didn’t passed unnoticed. Whenever she hold it for more then a few seconds, he averted his eyes and looked towards the menu and his coffee, or played with the napkin.“-You…you should really try the cheese bun and the hot chocolate. I know female idols are always dieting but these are worthy of missing one diet day.”

But he couldn’t hold it anymore, he wasn’t someone that enjoyed being stared at - foolish since he was a well-known idol, but it was the truth. “-I’m sorry but does my face has anything on it? Do I have strawberry on my teeth? I noticed you looking and I was just wondering…”

“Ah, how embarrassing,” Eunhee covered up a smile with her hand before continuing. “Please give our new song lots of support then! It’s called ‘Night Rather Than Day. We worked hard to prepare a fresh image.” She blushed amid the shameless self promo.

She was only half listening to what Mark was saying. She was intently starting at his face, wonder how the universe could be so unfair. She had to pay to look this feminine and it still wasn’t enough in a lot of peoples eyes. Her jaw tightened when the boy smiled. ‘Perfect teeth and dimples? The universe is really against me.” she thought bitterly.

His nerves were going unnoticed in Eunhee’s eyes. She continued to scan his face, as if she was trying to memorize every little feature. The mention of food brought her back to reality and she finally picked up her menu. “I’m doing promotions right now ya’ know.” She gave a small smile, trying to catch another small glimpse of the boy. “I’m probably just going to have black coffee with honey.” She decided placing the menu down.

Eunhee’s eyes opened wide. She had a deer caught in headlight look plastered all over face before she smirked. “Aish, you really make a perfect girl!” She exclaimed. “You have the perfect face, and you get all flustered when people stare at you too long. I’m really very jealous.”

It was faded to be a strange encounter, he thought. When he received the proposition of being one of the MC’s for the latest award show, he knew something was wrong when the staff asked him to meet his female counterpart prior the award show in order to create some sort of bounding or chemistry.

What they thought they were? That they would perform some sort of sexy dance while announcing the winners? Maybe… very likely. The reason they picked him, according to his manager, was his popularity among the female audience, so perhaps this person was also popular but among the male audience?

His thoughts were cut short when a cup filled with overly sweet americano and a slice of toast along some strawberries were brought to the table.Bowing towards the waitress, he smiled.“

“-Gomabseubnida.” The air was thick with the scent of coffee and although he drinks in the aroma like everyone else before taking a sip, his vice was yelling for him to cut the crap and just drink the damn coffee all at once,’.He was too entertained with his food to notice the exact moment the girl sat in front of him, but the moment he lay his eyes upon her he simply opened a gallant smile.

“- Hwan-yeong…Eunhee-ssi?” he was pretty awful with names.“-Mannaseo bangabseubnida, I’m Mark. I believe we are going to work together for the next couple of days. ”

Eunhee requested to meet Mark before the awards ceremony. Her previous co host and her didn’t get along, so she wanted to make sure that this one was going to be better. Her manager assured her he was nice, but she wasn’t to sure. That could be a persona. A fake image to the public. Eunhee knew that all to well. 

Eunhee arrived at the cafe. She took a deep breathe before opening the door, signaling a bell to go off. She was greeted by some staff, which she gave a rude hello too. Her eyes scanned the cafe, looking for someone with an idol like air. She wasn’t exactly sure who she was looking for, but all idols have similar auras she noticed.  She noticed the boy sitting alone drinking some coffee.  ‘So that’s Mark.’ She thought to herself. He did’t look to threatening, in fact he looked kind of pretty.

Walking to the table, nose in the air and lips tight, Eunhee sat down in front of the boy. He seemed to preoccupied in his food to notice that the girl sat down. Eunhee moved uncomfortably in her seat, waiting to be noticed. 

A smile stretched across her lips at his when he spoke, he seemed nice enough. Eunhee gave a small bow before introducing herself. “Hello I’m Kang Eunhee, Silhouette’s leader.”  Her eyes scanned the boys face, he was just so pretty. “Let’s get along well?” She questioned not once removing her eyes from the boys face.

“It smells so nice in here.” She commented trying to fill in the silence not sure what to talk about. She continued to study his face, her stare intense and blank. Mark’s cheeks were a little round, but that’s nothing a little contour can’t fix. His lashes were naturally long, and Eunhee imagined what they would look like with eyelash extensions. She puffed up her cheeks, giving the boy a glare. Eunhee was jealous. It’s not fair for a boy to be prettier than her.

Lily sighed as she felt her body become one with the couch. She was on her second week of promotions and had just finished Silhouette’s dress rehearsals. Her body and voice were beginning to feel sore. She rubbed her shoulders trying to relieve some of the ache, while she sent her manger away to get her some tea. The other members were off somewhere else, most likely catching up with old friends. Lily was alone in the dressing room. No makeup artists, no stylists, no members, and no manager. She sighed yet again. She didn’t want to be alone, but she didn’t want to be seen. Something about her didn’t look right today. The stylist changed her outfit two times before deciding on a look, and the makeup artist commented on tired Lily has been looking lately. Of course she didn’t want to be seen. She didn’t even want to be on camera. She scrolled through her phone, looking for some music to calm her down. She attached her phone to the Bluetooth speaker in the corner of the room, and started blasting some music. Kitty to be exact, some local New York City rapper she found while browsing the internet.
