they  streak    down the page, lights of every   aura   portrayed by man’s creation on    midnight pavement.   long exposure-taken,  a   masterpiece   in     itself    portraying    the    tumultuous   ease of    every day     life. big city streets  looked like the     sky   at home if one manages to squint. forgive the    awestruck   angle of her jaw,     HAPPIER TIMES     just linger too far off.

56:  slacker vs. straight ‘a’ student

       ❛   i didn’t chose to eavesdrop. you just happen to play you’re music so damn loud.   ❜

               a shift in atmosphere, a body shifts to meet comfort again.   adjusting to a setting that was only lived through the eyes of another, a rather obscure experience faced only in vivid dreams.   this was reality ; the way the wind carefully carries smoke throughout the air before them, dancing in the breeze before disappearing into oblivion.   yet focus returns to them, where curiosity grips him in a tender vice, posing a question to form behind his teeth.

now he’s done it.   soiled   the pinnacle of the melody with his inquisitions   &     slandered the tone until it was    nothing more than    wayward notes in her ears. a telltale sigh  , &    the headphones become   useless    in her lap.   normalcy fled    &    what was left laid in front of her. a   bedraggled  stranger decked out in black   &    a casual stench of an    off-road  existence lingering in the air. 

                     ❛     that’s only because you’re seeing it before rush                            hour.   then,  all hell breaks loose.  then again,  i                            bet it was like that in London, too.

her marrow    settles,   drifting to a state of    nirvana            simplicity. his fingers rising   bumps    against her skin, sheets flipping between cotton   &   silk;  an endless endeavor to    fiddle   with their minds.
