Kazue Murasaki is just your average undergrad student. Nothing odd about the year she took between high school and college, or the giant old house she inherited from her grandmother, or the strange ring with a note she found in a hidden compartment in the attic- actually, something is odd about that last one.

Danica Vogel has no memory. Prior to two years ago, at least. One day she simply woke up in her apartment, knowing her name and where to go and not much else. Working as a consultant to the police is certainly odd when she's not quite sure where any of her knowledge comes from, but she's able to help, so it stays shut in the back of her mind.
