Mischief painted her features, a look that her brother would know well -- after all, he shared it with her. âI vote we go out tonight and see what trouble we can get into.â

âHave to what? Iâm on captain-sitting duty,â he murmured, âthe rest of my duties can go to hell when youâre like this. Youâre my best friend, Jaz. Iâm not leaving you if itâs the last thing I do besides drinking a mint julep.â Bones came to a stop by her bed and sat down on his haunches.
âThereâs the word I wanted to hear. So. Do you come here often?â
The corners of Leonardâs mouth crinkled into a smile. âWhat? Donât look at me like that. Maybe I can cheer you up enough to get your tired ass to sleep. Do you want me to find something to throw at you? Hm?â
Hands racked through long locks as the female fought against the urge to glare at her friend. She knew that he wasnât going to leave her alone. Hell, it would have been disturbing if he had. It just wasnât in Bonesâ nature. âIâm used to not getting sleep, youâre the one that has to take care of people on your shift.â
She could handle being exhausted and sitting in the captainâs chair. She could handle being exhausted and dealing with paperwork. She just didnât want him to go through the same thing.Â
His smile was enough to force a soft one to her own lips, though it was barely able to be called a smile. It didnât reach her eyes, they were still far too clouded with exhaustion and even fear. She was cursing those nightmares constantly. âI donât think thatâs how sleep works, Bones.â
georgianmedhead:
âNo one did,â Horatio said, shrugging, âitâs just the damn look on your face. It matches how you look when you kill someone, Jaz.â He drew away from the torture chamber and got closer to her. Intrigue rose his brow. âOh? You did?â
McCoy walked over to put his tools to sanitizationâ and then he was brushing himself off, returning to her side as he always did. âItâs not more people to murder in cold blood, is it? Because if I find out that Sulu and Chekov were fighting over kill-rights, I think Iâll kill them, myself.â
A beat. âIâm kidding. Iâm just tired of them coming to the Medbay with 18 lacerations. Really ties things up when I could be running more interrogations.â
He hummed. âWhat is it, Captain?â
âWell, I didnât kill anyone.â Not yet, anyway. âWe did, a nice little group of locals that decided that attacking our landing party was a good idea.â It wasnât, it was frankly the stupidest idea of their lives and now it was going to cause the very painful end of it.Â
âOh, Horatio, they donât even know about our little visitors. Just you and I and Spock. With a couple security officers that have been told VERY clearly that if they let it slip to anyone, they would be finding themselves on the bad end of this room.â
He could say he was kidding all he wanted, but the captain knew far better.Â
âShall we go and see them?â

Horatioâs mouth curled into the biggest grin he could manage in his stateâ he was a kid in a candystore, a Wisconsin Cheesehead that had just won the game when they were losing. He watched the blood trickle and his tongue came out to lick at his own lips. His mouth was dry, so dry, and she was⌠inviting. The scent of iron had always been a smell that he particularly loved.
A âyesâ died in the back of his throat, and instead, he drew nearer, letting the scalpel drop from her neck to slip back into the hidden confines of his sleeve. He stepped away from the vampire.
âYou win, Kirk,â he murmured, eyes flashing dangerously, and then he was stepping up to kiss her, one hand moving to keep a tiny bit of pressure on the neck wound.
That was exactly the response that she wanted. Or rather, the start of it. She was more than a little pleased. The smell of iron caused her eyes to brighten slightly, the ravenous feeling in her chest growing - even if it was her own blood instead of someone elseâs. If she didnât feed soon, it would most likely end in a great deal of disaster for someone aboard.Â
When his lips pressed against her, she growled softly. The pressure on her neck was enough to send just a spark of pain to her brain, but it was a spark that was almost entirely ignored.Â
âI know I do.â She pulled away from him, âRoom. Now.â

Leonard shot her another look ( set to practically kill, not stun ) and frowned. His extremely animated features seemed to die, then and there. âYou sure about that?â He crossed his arms: an act of closing off, an act of grumpiness. The country doctor wanted to yell, but it was a ridiculous thing to do. Especially now, when she was so set in her ways. Yelling wouldnât help when she needed compassion.
And so, he hung back from the door, and started making his way back to her.
âFine. If you donât need anything, then you wonât mind my company.â
For a moment, Jaz leaned over, head resting on her arm. She could practically feel the glare, but did nothing to try and further prove her point. She just didnât have the energy to argue with him about how she was feeling. Or how the nightmares were taking their toll. Blue eyes watched him cross his arms, and she could almost feel the disconnect.Â
She was thankful when he started his way back to her, no longer intent on getting a hypo full of whatever he could get his hands on to knock her out.Â
âBones...you should go to bed. You have to --- â She stopped. Any argument that was meant to send him to his own room and bed could be easily cast back at her. âFine.â
georgianmedhead:
âYou do understand,â came his Southern drawl, low and bitten, âthat youâre not gonna get out of this, right? Itâs the end of the line for you, sweetheart. I would just accept it and tell me what I need to know. Then, maybe youâd get out of there.â Horatio was standing on the other side of the protective cell, fingers halted right on one of the ejector buttons.
When the woman decided to not say a word, Lenâs hazel orb darkened with glee. âHave it your way.â He smashed the button with his whole fist and watched, happily, as she was jetted out into space. Theyâd get the info they needed from her PADD. He turned, and then he was relaxing, firing off an order for a lesser ensign to go through her things.
McCoy returned to his typical apathy and was greeted by the captain. A slight, though muted, smirk crossed onto his lips.
âCaptain. Whoâd you kill today? Youâre looking chipper.â
She stood back, watching him work, glee coming over her features for a moment. There was little that pleased her more than watching him torturing someone. The captain leaned up against the wall, arms crossing over her chest as she waited for him to finish and turn his attention to her.Â
Something that needed to happen quickly before a foul mood overtook her.Â
The ensign went to work quickly at Horatioâs orders, and for a moment Jaz watched him scuttle about. It was just as equally amusing to watch those who were terrified of McCoyâs wrath attempt to not bring it down upon them.Â
âWho said I killed anyone?â No the promise of getting to do it was enough to bring the smile to her features currently, âWe brought a little something back from our landing party.âÂ
georgianmedhead:
Horatio went to speak, but then next thing he knew, he was being pulled by the blue fabric of his uniform⌠and had her mouth all over his neck. It was enough to make the tips of his ears red as Mars. Though, as usual, he hid his reaction ( as best as he could ). ââFraid so, darlinâ,â came his murmur, low and husky, a small smirk toying on his lips. It was obvious he was thinking about both.
A smirk that slipped off his features as soon as she reprimanded him. His hazel orbs darkened the longer he stood there, letting a silence bask between them. Then he was grinning like a wolf. In a quick twirl, the doctor had pulled a scalpel from his pocket and had it pressed against her carotid artery. Not as dangerous for a vampire, but still.
   âMake me.â For emphasis, âCaptain.â
His response to her lips ( and fangs ) on his neck only made the vampire all the more ready to pull the doctor into a room where no one would dare interrupt them. Despite his words, Jaz was sure she could easily get him to join her for BOTH activities that would keep her from killing someone in the crew.Â
However, when he pulled back and suddenly had the scalpel to her throat, her own eyebrows rose. It was an empty gesture. One that Jaz only proved by pressing her neck against the blade and allowing it to cut enough to draw blood. The challenge of making him was one she was happy to take.Â
âCome now. Do we REALLY want to play things this way. Itâs so much more fun when we are both having a good time.â A hand went to grab his wrist, tight and firm, but not enough to cause pain....at least not yet.Â
georgianmedhead:
Just nightmares. As soon as that phrase came out of her mouth, Leonard was sucking in a breath and getting ready to lay into her about the importance of sleep. His mouth contorted in that way that it always did before he huffedâ like he was a beaver whose dam had been ripped up by careless squirrels.
âBullshit,â he bit out, keeping his voice low for emphasis.Â
âYouâre not fine, Jaz. Youâre barely keepinâ together.â Mentally, Bones was already getting a game plan together. âYou sit tight. Iâm gonna get you a hypo of melatonin, okay? Something so you can sleep.â
  She was expecting yelling.Â
Bones always had a way of figuring out when she was lying ( and she refused to believe that she was just THAT bad ) and she knew by the look on his face that the moment she started talking, was the moment he stopped believing her. At the mention of the hypo, she became rigid. She didnât WANT to be forced to sleep.Â
âBones. No. Iâm fine. I donât need anything.â Just the idea of being stuck in a state of mind where she couldnât get herself out of the nightmares was frankly terrifying.Â

@georgianmedhead
  She was pleased with herself.Â
Though, in all honestly, when was she not? But that was beyond the point. All that mattered was at this moment, Jasmine Kirk was very very happy with herself. And surprisingly, with her crew. There had been an...altercation of sorts between the a landing party from the Enterprise and the locals of a planet. Surprisingly, non of her crew had managed to get themselves killed - most likely the source of the good mood the captain was in - and theyâd actually brought back some for questioning.Â
And that was always a favorite activity of hers.Â
The female strode into the Torture Room, looking for the doctor. âHoratio.â
georgianmedhead:
One would think that torture would be the only thing in his repertoireâ but to a tiny degree, Bones did love helping people. It was just shoved away in that part of him that he loathed. Medicine and mutilation were to sides of a very specific coin, and Leonard played both sides equally. Like he often played other members of the Enterprise.
âNo,â he said, voice stern, âand I wonât have you murdering people in my MedBay because youâre starving. Either you can take a bite out of me and eat, or I can calm you down.â Brows rose with thatâ like the implications of such a phrase.
âThough, honestly, if you want to kill someone and drain them, please do it to Chekov. Heâs royally pissing me off.â
Her brows arched slightly as she eyed him. Well, she supposed that he had a good point. The members of medical were needed, even if they annoyed her a great deal. Though, at the offer, her lips twisted into a smirk, and it only took another brief moment for her to close the gap between the two.Â
âOh? Are those my only two choices?â Her hand went to grab his shirt, pulling him down in order for her to press her lips against his neck in a teasing kiss before drawing her fangs gently over his skin. âWhat if I want both?âÂ
She pulled back for a moment, âNo talking about killing Chekov. Its going to ruin my mood.â
