Assignment Post Mortem
As the final days of assignment draw to a close I want to take a look back at what I've learned over the last 14 weeks. I have learnt the full process of game design itself, while a small project and team. Most of the things learnt will form a solid base for future work. From designing, to prototyping and playtesting, to the art creation process, and finally refinement of the work. All in all it was a long process, however the final result is something I think our group can be happy with. Climb to Heaven 14 weeks ago started as a little drawing on a single piece of paper that evolved into a functional and playable game. This main highlight for me is the art process that was taken on solely by me. I learnt alot on how to speed up these processes, especially using the programs Aseprite and Photoshop.
In future works I think a stronger system of communication is needed. I feel like my team sometimes could've communicated what they needed and what their visions were more concisely. Although a small note it sometimes slowed down the art process. As someone who had never done anything like this, I think I was quite lost at points. I value the rest of the team for the help in these times. I am also quite proud of our final product. Thank you.
