People make mistakes. We are all human, and there is not one person that can say they are 100% perfect. It can be extremely hard opening your heart back up to someone that hurt you, but sometimes, believe me it’s worth it. You can miss out on something really really special if you choose not to give them a second chance. I’m not saying be completely forgiving and accepting of that person. But think about how the person is with you and how they treat you now they’ve learned from their mistakes. It’s so important to show maturity in a situation, meaning to forgive and move on sometimes. Time is limited on this planet. However, that choice is completely up to you. People can change. Sometimes, when we are young, we make stupid mistakes, we hurt people we care about and put less important things ahead of them. Sometimes losing someone you really love can show you your mistakes and change the person that you were. Mistakes are human. No one reading this will ever say “I’ve never made a mistake in my life.”. And if you do say this, you’re lying. We are all human, we are messy and we tend to make mistakes. Sometimes they deserve to be forgiven for that mistake if you know their intentions towards you were pure. If you love someone, you owe it to yourself, to try again. Sometimes you give someone a second chance, not for them but for you. Break-ups are painful, especially when you always imagined spending your life with this very person and if you can avoid the unnecessary pain and regret that is involved in that break-up, then do it. Try one more time to make things work, if they don’t then it’s just not meant to be. It shows maturity. As you grow up, your actions and choices frame you as a person. You’ve always preferred turning your back away but it was different with this person, so why do the same thing and leave? Giving someone a second chance defines your character as well. If you show that you are mature enough to forgive, then it shows that you are worth not messing over again. Most importantly: They could surprise you like never before. Honestly, if you give someone a second chance, they can surprise you so much more than you ever thought would be possible. After this painful but necessary hiccup, they have the potential to become what and even more than you would have ever wished for. Also, you might miss out on something great. What if this person is your forever person? What if from now on you will have the best relationship ever going forward? You will never know, if you never try. Start off slowly but don’t deprive yourself from a love you’ll regret letting go of. She/he always had your heart. Don’t miss out on that. It’s the chances you don’t take that you regret forever.
