She is ugly on purpose. I'm being so deadass. I chose a colour pallet and design i find unpleasant for this
I'm not good at describing places so stay with me alright. right? right. I'll even make some visuals for you to stay with me on this- as a person who has a hard time imagining architecture in my head alone... Also I'm not good at writing... But the visuals are lazy... Made them half asleep. AGAIN; MID WRITING WARNING
This blog is part experimental to see if I can really keep a simple schedule.
You get off the train with a soft sigh, suitcase rolling up behind you as other passengers rush out flooding the space around you, banter, laughter and excitement filling the atmosphere.
Darn, it was good while it lasted. The ride here was honestly pretty fun. If you wanted to keep to yourself, you were never bothered! social interaction? Sometimes people were too eager to talk, so that was no problem! Food was great. so many vegan and allergy free options! Cozy sleeping area... But now you're here... and honestly, you think this will be better than the train by a good amount. The sun is pleasantly warm- it is comfortable out here. How joyous.
In front of you, above your head, a sign. In bold, Arial letters it reads "FLOWERFIELD". You look back down in front of you at the outdoor space. honestly, it was kind of arranged like an outdoor restaurant, hidden in the shade of the station. So many people! Are trains and botany truly such a popular interest? Well, yes, but a lot of people probably came because of kids or are because of the bots- not gonna lie, you too, were interested in the robots. This place wasn't popular for nothing. There's one flower bot who will remain the star of the show..! This place was catnip for engineers of all sorts (you're here for the trains).
You look off to your side, adjusting your messenger bag over your shoulder as you begin walking towards the front entrance.
Past the tables and the brick floor of the outside of the station, there are some concrete stairs that lead to the actual ground, then grassy hills with paths as far as you can see, littered with all sorts of plant life, possible small critters (So cute!!! You hope to go on a walk and see some...), and a few buildings- but when you say a few, you mean it. Like fifteen max, and they all have a considerable amount of space between them, the tallest ones being the five egregiously large hotel buildings. well, one of them is to be taken down this year, but that's unimportant. Besides the buildings, the hills continue for miles and miles.
[imagine that there are tables around you and people and that the hills are pretty with yellow flowers and more buildings i tried and I'm tired trust me. This is just to get a vague picture in your mind]
You make it inside past all the people hanging out, conversing (prob bout trains. Or robots. Or botany.) and eating to head straight to the large lobby, stopping only when you reach the ridiculously big front desk. There are several employees behind it- each in a floral themed or ticket checker uniform. The person who will be checking you in has a pixie cut and very pretty makeup... Their nametage just says 'Dave'. Spectacular. 'Dave' speaks once they catch sight of you
"Hello! I'm Mel," Oh ok. "Welcome to FlowerField station! I'm sure you're tired of the name already- you've probably read through the whole website page! Right?" Mel says eagerly. The desk worker smiles as they look at you. Why does their nametag say Dave. You adjust your bag over your shoulder again.
You smile back before glancing over to the side at a lifesized poster of the flower bot herself- Flos. Damn, the poster shows how tall she is- like a mountain... Guess that's what to expect when the site specifically states that the Bots are gonna be tall. The poster is just her standing in front of the very train you got off of. You redirect your gaze back at the person behind the counter.
"Sure have," Did you read through the whole Webpage? "I'm so glad I got tickets to come here. I guess I've just been fascinated with trains as of late- still got a lot to learn about them..! eheh..." You chuckle nervously as their eyes seem to light up with joy.
"Oh, indeed! Trains are so interesting... but do not forget to learn about your flowers too! That's my favorite part of this place... er- anyways, ticket, please?"
They hold their hand out. You almost forgot, they use physical tickets due to some advantages of it (secret blacklight text, made of special materials, etc..) making it easier to avoid fakes. There are still digital tickets- but used as a "just in case". Lucky for you, you have your darling little ticket on you. You fish it out from your bag and hand it over to them.
Their only response is a giggle. Mel takes the ticket, scans it, then uses a hole-puncher on the ticket. They hand it back to you with a pair of keys for your hotel room."Want a back-up card too?"
"Uhm, yeah sure." With your words, they hand you a card before waving you goodbye for now as you walk towards one of the Halls that branches off of the main lobby. You probably should head back out and make the walk to the hotel building of which you will be staying- but you just got in here! You wanna see at least a little something before going back out.
You take a look down the route through the doorway labeled "Bits and Bobs". You suspect it to lead to a gift shop or two- Splendid! Plenty of places to make poor decisions on your trip!
You check out the rest of the hallways. "Group tours", "Learning with the Bots", "Greenhouse", "Train Models", etcetera etcetera... how fun. Finally done peeking around, you head back out to walk to your hotel building. After checking in at yet another front desk, you head up the elevator to the fifth floor... room 44.
You push your suitcase to the side as you close the door behind you, keys jingling in your hold as you toss your messenger bag somewhere in the room before walking over and flopping down on the first bed you see.
You have a feeling that this will be fun :)
Train(s) of the month: Steam Powered locomotive(s).[I will talk more specifically about them later, maybe even bring up an example or two when there is time. Research will be done by end of month and posted ( : Hope you enjoyed this post and will come back in the future to ask questions about FlowerField, Mel, Flos, and other possible friends! You cannot escape them.]
