Forever 21 & Friends | Nichole and Heidi 7.5.22
There were a few universal truths that Nichole knew by heart. One, people were going to judge based on appearance. As much as Nichole loathed it, that's the world that they lived in and Nichole knew it was better to play ball than buck the system. It didn't mean she couldn't have fun with her neo-eighties style and bright colors, but it did mean that anything that she wore was liable to be called out. Two, school was starting soon. This meant that their fun days of summer were coming to an end, and it meant that craziness had a chance of happening. South Park was a magnet of crazy, and while Nichole had good luck avoiding it most of the time, things happened. It also meant that appearance was about to become extremely important, there was no harsher runway than the school hallway. And three, Heidi was no doubt one of the prettiest girls in the school. Whatever she had going on with Kyle, Clyde, whoever, it was sure to be interesting.
She was there with Heidi in a Forever 21. Cheap clothing that catered to their age demographic and was one of the few stores that was in their rather pathetic small town mall. Surrounded by the racks of clothing that were disordered enough to where there was no coherent theme and messy enough to wear Nichole wanted to clean everything to save the poor workers some time at the end of the day, Nichole stood with Heidi as her fingers filtered through the rack. She paused, looking at a particular top. It was a crop top, black, with sunflowers on it. She was sure she could circumvent the dress code with a high waisted skirt or a pair of jeans when it got cold enough, but she didn't want to get anything without consulting Heidi.
"What do you think?" Nichole held the top against her, her brown eyes looking at Heidi curiously. "Is it too off brand for my style or do you think a little departure is a good thing?"
