maggie rogers croons while rachel gets free rein over flori's closet. as that happens, flori busies herself with her makeup as per rachel's request. specifically the shade of red lipstick she's applying to her lips. what? by now, she does know what her best assets are, thank you very much.

running into benjamin braeden at a bonafide blood feast was not on her bingo list for this year. but here they are.

"this is a vampire party," flori mutters dryly as another vampire, ryan, makes a beeline towards the chilled bloodbags in the kitchen, "they're a bloody good time by definition." she's been nursing an o-neg bloodbag. "why are you here, anyway? did kristen powell invite you?" her fellow vampire strikes her like the type - that is to say, kristen's got a type and ben fits it to a 't'.

to their left, two twin girls are holding dolls; they're sitting with another vampire named kris and they, with their little dresses made out of lace, look like they shouldn't be in bed by ten rather than being surrounded by debauchery, even though said twins are much older than even ben and flori's age combined.

to their right, a blond vampire named henry is feeding on a pretty girl whose eyes are rolling back into her head.

because there are several beings in the world of the vampire diaries that can wield the power of compulsion even over other vampires, floribeth drinks vervain tea twice a day every day without fail, even though she cares little for the taste. once in the morning and once in the evening. she treats it like taking your daily medication.

does this make her a hypocrite, because she herself has wielded the power of compulsion? probably. but considering her mind is her greatest weapon and asset, she's more than okay with being hypocritical about this specific thing.

that said, floribeth is not aware of the fact that a mixture of hibiscus flower and mugwort can be used - as per freya mikaelson's admittance in the other girl in new orleans, episode 3x08 of the originals - to counteract vervain in one's system.
