my peter is a mix of original 1953 animated film + hook 1995. instead of leaving for wendy’s daughter, though, peter left neverland for wendy, breaking up her wedding to another man. however, as they grew older and remained in the real world, peter’s boyish selfishness only got worse. he and wendy did grow up, got jobs, and started a family; but ultimately, it ended with a failed marriage, two kids that just wanted attention he was too selfish to give, and a yearning for a place he couldn’t quite remember.
it is tinkerbell that calls him back to neverland. he sees her sometimes, but he thinks he’s drunk (as he tends to be quite often), and it isn’t until one day after a car accident that lands him in the hospital that he realizes tinkerbell is real. he follows her (reluctantly) out the window and to neverland where his memories return that have remained hidden since he came to the real world.
he is not known as peter banning, but peter pan. he hates the story. he hates the movies. and yes, they exist.
