⚜️ Here is the first ever Tumblr fansite for SarahBucky / BuckySarah, also known as their ship name Fleur de Louve.

While this fansite will have a focus on Sarah Wilson, it is technically a ship fansite so it will serve as a place where all fan-created content is collected, both for the ship as well as for Sarah Wilson individually. This is a safe and fun space for fans of this amazing ship to express their admiration and love for this ship, and a safe place to have civil discussions or meta.

This fansite will hold events as well, such as: regular content creator spotlights and an annual Ship Month every November. We are open for any opinions, ideas, or concerns for future events or just in general—as long as they are civil and respectful.

As stated before, the goal of this fansite is to be an enjoyable space for fans but especially Black women

Summary:.

It was supposed to be a day off. But there's a supervillain in Delacroix, the press have descended and Sarah's wearing her short shorts. There's no way this ends well, right?

Right?!

This fic, read by the author, had me smiling and actually laughing out loud quite a few times.

The author—who also is the reader (performer)—does a wonderful job capturing the characters’ voices.

I almost skipped reading this because it is described as an Arcane AU and I didn’t (and still don’t) know anything about Arcane, but when I tell you that the end of the very short Prologue, I was IN? I mean that ish.

Knowledge of Arcane is not necessary. It is a dystopian setting, though. With familiar characters!!

Excerpt from Prologue

Here are the things Sam can see: the shattered stained glass spilled from the top floor into the basement, covering the ground with grit. The shredded padding and orange upholstery of that old couch he and Rhodey had their chat on. Blood, coloured brighter and fresher than Yelena’s had been (like the spurt that gushed up around Sarah’s hand once, at thirteen, too aggressive in deboning a fish).

It’s coming out of somewhere in Bucky’s midriff, smearing over the grit-up ground and staining the already stained glass a uniform scarlet.

Bucky’s face is pressed into this. Tawny tufts of his dark hair are mussed over his forehead and thickened with debris. Sam can see one blue eye, wide.

“We’ll keep the lights on for Santa Claus and for you,” the boys told him the night before when he called to let them and Sarah know he’d be on his way home soon, arriving in time for Christmas.

”I’ll just say be prepared,” she chuckled. “They really got into the spirit this year.”

Even though the house was set back a little ways, as the SUV approached the driveway, the glow was visible from the main road.

Not only was the house brilliant, lights were also wrapped around a few of the trees in the front-yard.

“Wow!”

“Exactly what I was thinkin’,” Bucky grinned. “Thanks for the ride home, pal.”

“My pleasure Sergeant Barnes,” the white-haired older man smiled, eyes twinkling. “I’m on my way home, too. Been a long day. Y’all have a merry Christmas.”

“You and yours too,” he nodded, giving the driver a generous tip and a wave as the car pulled away.

He placed his bags on the porch, did a quick perimeter check of the property, then stood in the yard and took in the decorations before mounting the steps.

He smiled, and shook his head in wonderment at the display of lights decorating the house.

“Thanks, guys. It’s beautiful.”

He unlocked the door, touched the door jamb, whispered “Bast wam, sikelela le ndawo,” and entered the house.

The first thing he smelled was the tree, which was softly aglow from tiny lights. These were much more subdued than the ones on the exterior of the house.

The living room was festive, but also calm and cozy.

Next came the aroma of the freshly-baked cookies that were arranged on a plate in the middle of the coffee table. On another plate was a bunch of carrots.

And there was a note, carefully printed and signed by the boys:

Dear Santa

The cookies are for you and Uncle Bucky. Mama helped us make them. The carrots are for the reindeer. We picked them out of our garden.

Merry Christmas and Thank You!

Cass and AJ

He snagged a cookie, opened his duffle, pulled out several wrapped parcels, placed them under the tree, and took the duffle into the mudroom, leaving it on top of the washer to get to later.

Snagging another cookie, he picked up his backpack and headed for the downstairs bathroom where he showered, brushed his teeth and slipped into the pj bottoms and t-shirt that were waiting on the door hook.

Avoiding the squeaky step on the way upstairs, he looked in on the kids, then stepping quietly into Sarah’s room, he set his backpack in the corner, carefully pulled back the covers and crawled into bed, relaxing for the first time in hours. In days.

“Mmmmmm…” Sarah hummed as he pulled her into his chest, wrapping his arm around her, kissing the back of her neck, burying his face in her curls, and inhaling the scent of her hair.

Bucky knows she fell asleep while trying to wait up for him because she usually puts her hair up before going to sleep.

She snuggled herself into him, and reaching back, ran her fingers through his hair as he cupped her breast before running his hand down under the waistband of her sleep shorts.

“Merry Christmas, baby,” he softly growled. “I’m home.”

Quietly giggling, she parted her thighs and purred, “Ahhhhh…’zat you, Santa Claus?”

"Sarah, where's the--" Bucky stopped as he came around the corner and caught Sarah with her hands full of miniature candy bars from the stash the boys had just brought home.

Her eyes widened comically. "This isn't what it looks like!"

"Really? Bucky laughed. "Cause it looks like you're stealing your kids' Halloween candy."

Sarah's face broke into a wide smile. "It's one of the perks of parenthood!" she said, tearing the silver foil of a Baby Ruth bar before she looked up again. "Are you going to rat me out?"

Bucky grinned. "Depends," he said with an easy shrug as he stepped closer to her in the kitchen. "Are you going to share that chocolate with me?"

The Mission: Stop Val. Save Bob.

Status: Done and done. (Almost.)

Bucky was thinking that as soon as he could get away for a just a minute, he was going to call her and tell her that he was coming home.

Not to visit. To stay.

Yelena’s got this, he thought. They don’t need me. Therapy? They absolutely need that, but, need me? Nah. I’m done. Soon as we hand Val over to the authorities and Senator Gary gets that impeachment hearing continued with testimony from Walker, Ava, Yelena, Alexi. Oh yeah, and Bob, as witnesses? I’m outta here. No more Congress. Leah’ll be a great House Rep. No more whatever that Sentry is or was with that Void and endless rooms of the worst things I’ve…no. Just back to Sarah, the kids, the Gulf, some properly seasoned food…and some Calm.

If she’ll have me.

Yep. The Mission was about to be Accomplished, and that’s what he was thinking when he saw soon-to-be former CIA Director Valentina de Fontaine yelling into her cellphone as she ducked behind a tarp blocking off part of the Watchtower’s construction area, so he and the team went after her.

“I’m going to kill that person,” Alexi growled.

“We can’t kill her,” Bucky tried to reason with him. “We have to take her in.”

“Well, I’d like to kill her,” Ava spat, quick-walking to catch up with Alexi and Bucky, who were the first ones to go through the tarp opening. Ava was on their heels, with Yelena, Walker…and Bob close behind.

One minute, they were closing in on Val, and the next minute—

“Are we Live?” That voice. Her voice. It was coming from…everywhere. “Great.”

(Speakers? Why is there a podium and some speakers set up at this construction site? Where’d all these reporters come from, and why is she giving a speech? What’s going on…?)

“For years, I have been working secretly to develop a new age of protection.”

While Walker, Yelena, and Alexi stood frozen, not knowing exactly what to do—and Ava looked like she was about to ghost the hell completely out—Bucky scanned the area, did a quick assessment, and figured that there must’ve been almost a hundred photographers, press, TV cameras, and bystanders on the street. More onlookers were peering down from the windows of surrounding buildings.

“Ladies and Gentlemen,” Val continued, “meet…The New Avengers.”

The air is filled with cheering and applause as cameras click and flash.

Yelenai: “Kakogo—”

Alexi: “—cherta.”

Ava: “Bloody what—“

Walker: “—the fuck?”

Bucky glared at the cheering crowd and photographers, looked over at the other…what did Alexi call them? Thunderbolts? All of whom appeared about as stunned as he felt. He also saw Bob, standing a bit off to the side, smiling and clapping with the rest of the crowd, as if moments ago he didn’t transform into an unstoppable, all-powerful…

And there was Val, looking like the cat that swallowed 5…no…6 canaries.

“Sisihogo sani?” Bucky mumbled under his breath. “What the Hell?”

This is an excerpt from WIP I’ve been working on since seeing Thunderbolts* because I have Thoughts on how—and why—Bucky Barnes became a member of the House of Representatives, and Sarah Wilson meeting the Thunderbolts* aka “New Avengers” or as Bucky calls them…well…he calls them a lot of things except the “Avengers”.

Sam’s not the only one in their feelings about that name.

He can feel her looking at him as he finishes raking. She’s been doing it all day—stealing glances when she thinks he doesn’t notice. Not staring with any fear or apprehension. Just looking. Like girls used to look at him when he they thought he didn’t notice.

“Anything else you need me to take care of out here, Sarah?” he asks, leaning the rake against the giant oak tree in the Wilson’s front yard.

“Nope,” she shakes her head a little too quickly. “All good.”

“Sure?” She looks up again, a smile spreading slowly across her face. It makes her glow every time and every time, Bucky sure he’s never seen anything so beautiful in his life. He waits a beat. “Do I have something on my face?”

Summary: When he doesn't move she feels her chest tighten, a feeling heavy like lead sinking into her stomach. She walks into the light drizzle, barefoot and still in her pjs, slowly coming around to face him, something telling her to give him space.

"James?" She whispers again and feels her heart come to a shuddering and painful stop as she gets a good look at him. It's his eyes that give it away. She's seen them sad, defiant, shy, sparkling with joy and even blown wide with pleasure, but she's never seen them like this. She's never seen them empty.

Bucky looked up from his phone as the door opened. Sarah shuffled in and hung up her purse and jacket on the hook by the door. She unzipped her boots and dropped them unceremoniously on top of the pile of shoes.

“Hey,” he said, hoping not to startle her. “You’re home early.”

Sarah turned around and crossed to sit on the opposite end of the couch. “Not early enough.”

He winced. “Bad date?”

She stretched her arms overhead and groaned. “I can’t even remember what a good one is like.”

He matched her wrinkled, unhappy expression. “Honestly? Me either. But between you and me, I could’ve told you that guy was going to be a dud when he picked you up.”

She rolled her eyes affectionately. “You think they’re all duds,” she reminded him.

Bucky laughed. “And have I been wrong yet?” He watched as she sighed and let her head drop back on the couch, staring up at the ceiling for a long moment before he leaned over and tapped her lightly on the knee. “C’mon, don’t mope. I didn’t eat yet; I’m going to order pizza,” he grabbed the remote from the coffee table. “Find us something to watch.”

Sarah started flipping through the menus while Bucky ordered dinner. She waited until he’d set his phone back down before she spoke. “Can’t help but notice I’m the only one still trying my luck on the dating field these days.”

“That’s because you are braver and more optimistic than I, my dear,” Bucky looked over with a smile. “And besides, why do I need to date when I already found the only woman who’ll put up with my bullshit and not kick me out?”

The teenager at the register smiled as Sarah approached. “What can I get started for you?”

“Large chai latte with oat milk,” a familiar voice said, just as Sarah opened her mouth to speak. Bucky sauntered back behind the counter from between the swinging kitchen doors with a confident smile that was too handsome for its own good. He swatted the cashier on the arm. “I’ll get it started.”

Sarah let out a shocked little laugh and shook her head. “You don’t know that’s what I was going to order,” she said indignantly.

He narrowed his eyes, still grinning. “Did you want something else?”

She opened her mouth and closed it again. “No,” she said finally, fighting a smile when he laughed. “But you didn’t know that!”

She paid and stepped aside so the next customer could order while Bucky finished her drink. “You are just going to have to admit,” he said, scribbling her name on the side of the cup, “that after two years of you coming in here almost every day.” He capped the marker and handed the cup over. “There’s a slight chance I might know a little bit about you, Sarah Wilson.”

He slowly opened his eyes and Sarah’s shoulder was the first thing he saw.

Smooth. Dark. Highlighted by pale blue moonlight through the skylight.

He didn’t want to move, but he carefully extracted himself from the bed, grabbed his robe from the chair, made his way out of the room, quietly closing the door behind him, and headed down the stairs.

He drank a glass of water, then stepped out onto the deck that overlooked the lake.

It was chilly enough to where he wrapped Sarah’s shawl she’d left outside around himself before stretching out on one of the deck chairs, and leaning back to look up into the starry night sky.

The light fragrance of her—and his—favourite body lotion enveloped him.

So many stars. Different constellations are visible in Upstate New York than in Southern Louisiana…than in Wakanda…than in…than…in…

“So…seems like you got some of that Life that Tony was talkin’ about, too, huh? I’m really happy for you, Buck.”

“Mmmm. Wha—?” Bucky opened his eyes, looked over to his left, and there was an elderly man—tall, with white hair—standing at the railing, looking out over the still waters.

It looks like, but it can’t possibly be…

“Steve…?“

“Happy Birthday, Old Man.”

“Thanks, pal. What—?”

Summary: Sam should’ve known he’d have to tell Scott Lang, the man with a hit podcast and a New York Times Best Seller, to keep an invite on the DL.

Didn’t matter. As far as Sarah was concerned, what looked like was now turning into a fais do-do was Sam’s concern because she and Bucky already made alternate plans for their own New Years Party.

Sarah and Sam weren’t meaning to have an actual Party on New Years Eve.

Sarah sure wasn’t.

It was supposed to be just Sam and Misty, Sarah and Bucky, and Joaquin Torres, who was invited to come over and to bring a Plus 1 if he had one.

Sam also invited Scott Lange and Hope Van Dyne, who were going to be celebrating New Years Eve in New Orleans anyway. He told them feel free to drop on by if they found themselves overwhelmed by the New Years Eve crowd in “The Big Easy”.

Turns out that Scott casually mentioned to Clint Barton that Sam was “having a little get-together on New Years Eve at his place just outside of New Orleans”.

Clint then mentioned it to Nick Fury, who told Maria Hill, who told Carol Danvers, who mentioned it to Monica Rambeau, who told Jimmy Woo, who had no plans for New Years Eve.

Fury also mentioned it to Dr. Steven Strange.

Carol also mentioned it to Peter Quill and Thor, who mentioned it to Brunhilde.

And the next thing Sam knew, he was getting RSVPs from all over the place...meaning the Galaxy.

He even got an e-mail from Peter Parker, regretfully declining because Aunt May said No.

Sarah looked at the RSVP emails on Sam’s laptop, glared at the man and said, “I love you, Big Bro, but far as my kitchen and I are concerned, I’m closed.

Preparing and cooking for Thanksgiving and Christmas and now this?

We were going to have a nice, small, relaxed New Years Eve, and now you want to have a whole-assed fais do-do and fet up in here?

Feel free to cook, have a potluck or call a caterer, then. And you can watch me on the dance floor with my date.”

Fortunately, Sam knew exactly who to call on short notice. He knew there were some perks being Captain America, but this was definitely one of the best.
