When we say that a guy and a woman can't be friends without ulterior motives, we're portraying the woman, who is usually the victim, the object of desire, as an object that serves no purpose except physical attraction. We place women in the position of dolls, valued only for their physical attributes, with their voices, ideas, and even feelings ignored in favor of being a beautiful and desirable figure.

When we portray a platonic relationship between a man and a woman as impossible, we are saying that women are not interesting for their brains, that nothing matters except sexual attraction. Furthermore, we believe that men do not see women as human beings in the same way they see other men, but rather as a type of inferior animal destined for reproduction; they do not see them as equals or worthy.

Furthermore, when the phrase is applied to a relationship, implying that a man cannot be friends with a woman while in a relationship, it projects a seductive image onto the woman. A seductress who will deceive the man and make him fall for her, thus portraying the woman as a traitor to her own sex and projecting the blame solely onto her, as if she were a piece of meat.
