The bell hadn’t yet rung for morning time, but by his guess it was around 6:30 in the morning. Byakuya sat at the edge of his bed, tidying himself up for the day as the rest of his fellow classmates still lay asleep in their respective dorm rooms. Good. He’d have the dining hall to himself. With a soft ‘click’ of his bedroom door, the blonde haired ultimate began making his way towards the communal kitchen, a room that was soon to be bustling with life and conversation within the next half an hour. Tch. Disgusting.
The hallways echoed with a familiar silence, something that greeted them every morning. Even after all the weeks, none of them had grown used to the lack of sound, no breeze, no birds, not even the sounds of cars. Just the occasional soft whirring of air conditioning and vents. As Byakuya approached the kitchen, the clattering of plates and fumbling of the fridge caught his attention, responding with an eyebrow raise.
Who on earth is awake right now? He grumbled, disappointed that he didn’t have the alone time he was hoping for. Heaven help him if it was Taka in there, he wouldn’t get a moments peace, let alone Toko. A shudder ran down his spine at the thought.
Stepping up to the doorway, the blonde peaked through the doorway at whoever was making a ruckus in the kitchen. To which he spotted a familiar green hoodie and mop of brown hair. The totally useless, common, boring ‘lucky student’
Makoto? And he had… icecream?
“Well this is a change of pace for you Makoto”
“Gyah!” The brunette spun on his heels to face Byakuya, eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights. Clutched in his arms was an entire tub of strawberry icecream, a few speckles of ice were still stuck to the lid. “B-Byakuya… you scared me!”
