Ash Dragonblade passes you a letter: One for you, Kairos! Kairos, Can you come to the tower? I have a favor to ask, plus my daughter is staying over, right now, and I don't think you've met her? Talk soon. Warlic
"Ah- thanks Ash!"
They quickly opened the letter, neutral stare slowly turning into one of curiosity as they finished reading it.
"Warlic has a daughter...?"
They set off to Warlic's tower immediately.
When they arrived, he was already waiting for them in front alongside someone that they presumed to be his daughter.
"Hello Warlic! Hope you haven't been waiting long. Is this your daughter?"
Warlic waved him in. “Thanks for coming on such short notice, Kairos. This is Saya, Saya, introduce yourself.” The young woman, was some kind of weaver if the armor under her leather jacket was anything to go by. She was average build, toned, with long black hair and red eyes. “Hi, I’m Saya, a hero for fun. It’s short for ‘Saya no! Saya down! Stop climbing the drapes and spewing fire this instant young lady!’ But my friends call me Saya.”
She blinked then squinted at Kairos, before moving in close and catching their face. She gently but firmly angled their face in her hands, getting a closer look. “Hey... wait... are... are we related? Dad is this my younger sibling?! Dad!”
“Saya, can you please stop manhandling my friend? And, no, They’re not one of mine.” Warlic sighed. “I’m sorry Kairos.”
“Sorry,” Saya echoed, letting them go. “You look like you could be my little sibling though.
“Sayano,”
“That’s my name, don’t wear it out.” she rolled her eyes.
“As you can see, she’s going through a little bit of a rebellious phase lately,”
Saya snorted. “Dad, I’m an adult. It’s not a rebellious phase, we’re just not all that close.”
“Anyway, I’d like it if you could go with her to deliver a boxed lunch for me? It’ll be a good experience for you both.” He changed the subject rather quickly.
“that’s dad’s way of saying ‘Woe! Cryptic nonsense be upon ye!’,” Saya teased. “But I don’t mind hanging out a bit, if it’s okay with you.
Kairos adjusted their mask after Saya let go, nodding along through the family bickering. Certainly not the strangest greeting they've ever experienced, but that was definitely one way to make sure they were listening.
They shook away a small feeling pinching at their heart.
"Well, nice to meet you Saya! It's always reassuring to see another hard-working hero nowadays. I'd love to help out!"
They looked back to Warlic.
"So, who are we delivering lunch to? I don't imagine you'd send us off to your next door neighbours."
