I love rereading my own writing and improving it, even if it’s just to fix typos or to switch some sentences around. I can’t imagine writing out the first thing that comes to mind and never going back to see if you could improve it
I’ve struggled to write consistently since I started college but when I was, my favorite part of writing was finishing a chapter and then absolutely tearing it to shreds in editing. Not only is it necessary for a good book but it’s literally soso fun. “this sentence doesn’t even mean anything why did you even say that” “did you forget this character existed for 5 chapters. where are theyyyyyy” “major white room syndrome in this scene. do we live in the void? we’re having adventures in the void?” I LOVED it lol. I think a lot of bookish spaces are really infantilizing to both readers and authors so any sort of suggestion that a book has flaws is “mean” because a book is an authors widdle baby

I suffer from severe depression, a lingering OCD, CPSTD, fatigue, and strange blackouts that often result in my phone slipping from my hand or me bumping into walls.
I'm now dealing with a 480 $ (it used to be 340$ a couple of days ago and then not only the fees multiplied like ants, but I find myself needing cash for medical care) overdraft, while needing urgently to cover transportation costs, medical expenses, and much needed toiletry.
Oh, and also clothing and apparel as seams are slowly wearing down in every other corner.
This means that not only do I need to raise the 480 $ to refund my overdraft, but I also need to raise 480$ as a general goal. I hate it, but it's somewhat urgent and time sensitive.
