ryuji definitely lets ann win. they were barely friends before they got here but they knew each other from shujin. ryuji knows full well that ann has so much to live for and he's at the end of his rope anyway, all he asks is for ann to help out his mom if she wins
ann won't let him, but it's too late when ryuji shoves the bag of marbles at her before he runs around pissing off the guards to get them to shoot him. ann screams and cries the whole way while they forcibly drag her back to the main room :)
haru is a cheerful player that seems harmless to everyone. she's always excited to play these outdoor games she's never played before, spends the entirety of twenty minutes wandering around the streets before makoto gets her to play
haru loses, and makoto tries not to look back when she gets shot. she feels like she cheated somehow, even though she won fair and square. haru never played any sort of marble games before after all
akechi originally wanted to team up with yusuke for his wits. oh, and he's suprisingly reliable too, a fun companion to be around compared to all the other gloomy contestants
akechi doesn't let that cloud his judgement though, he's here to win, not make friends. he has a bastard of a father to meet once all of this is over
once yusuke realizes he's been tricked, all he does is sigh, and maybe laugh a little. somehow, he's not that surprised. he got betrayed, but madarame isn't worth going back to anyway
akechi definitely does not flinch when he heard the gunshots. that's what he keeps telling himself anyway
akira was the guard in charge of ann and ryuji, the girl who sat in front of his class and the boy he met on that first day of school, and treated him to dinner afterwards
he shot ryuji only in the shoulder, and tries to keep him alive when he gets put in his coffin until he can get him out without anyone noticing
akira originally snuck in to be a guard to find out why his adoptive sister went missing when she only ever left the house to buy some snacks in the neighborhood, and the only thing that stood out in her room was a calling card
akira disguises ryuji as one of the guards by the time he's strong enough
they get caught in the end anyway, chased off to a cliff by the others and the gamemaster. ryuji takes the shot for him, and they both fall into the sea
