Nora can only nod in response to Barryâs comment about not being able to do much on an empty stomach, and lets a small laugh sneak past her lips at the irony of looking over a pathologist report with a stomach full of food, at the thought of how that statement would sound to one not in their line of work. Her mood is lifted slightly, as this is the most interaction she has had since the last two days she has spent the better of alone â sifting through paperwork; looking down the lens of a microscope, making notes and dissecting.Â
Always keeping herself, her mind, busy with her work, the dead. Itâs cold and callused irony, distracting herself with othersâ deceased loved ones, while not coping with her own loss. âSo it seems. It is greatly appreciated.â She says, the comment honest, as she listens to him list off lunch options.Â
âCafes are wonderful, I think Iâm in the mood for one.âÂ
Hearing her comment about how his work was appreciated, Barry mused a small âthank youâ in return. Though he knew his work was helping people, it was nice to hear that it was. âAlright, cafe it is. It will be a nice change of pace for me, it has been so busy around here lately, I have only been able to grab fast food.â Barry spoke, giving a small nod. âI think a little change is in order before I end up being the one in your reports.â joked the man as he gave a small smile. Brows raising slightly he pointed back into the room he was in before spotting this pathologist. âIâm going to put this away real quick. Iâll be right back.â he spoke as he turned into the room, walking towards the back where he had a pile of other cases scattered on the table.
Setting the new folder off to the left, so he knew just exactly where it was when he was to return, the male turned around and made his way back to Nora. Giving a welcoming smile he gave a curt nod. âAlright, that is all taken care of.â he spoke, smile growing some. âAre you ready for some cafe food? I do believe three minutes have passed.â A smile turning into a sly grin, the hero looked at the other. It was refreshing to be around someone who was in the same field as him, but wasnât someone he saw everyday. He loved his coworkers, donât get him wrong, it was just nice to be with someone new.
