I gotta do a massive overhaul of things and I'm definitely gonna be scaling things back before I do, so no definitive timeline on the when, but hang in there folks 😬 what's a few more weeks after four years l m a o
tumblr mobile is and always will be ass, apologies to anyone who's notifications I just fucked with lmao the random refollows/likes were accidents
Legitimately forgot I had this blog, went to make a new account and it was like 'haha bitch you already exist here' sooooo 🤷🏼♀️
Might come back? Might not? Been wanting to write again lately so we'll see if that turns into a fic or rp urge, idk. Shits been shit. Yall know how it is.

Awakening might be dead but my love for it never will be.
Hey there! Do you like perfectionist Pegasus Knights with inferiority complexes a mile wide? Well do I have good news for you! Like or reblog if you’re interested in interacting with an indie Cordelia of Fire Emblem: Awakening - also with verses for Heroes, Warriors, Fates, Three Houses, Tellius, and modern!

so I got the Cordelia blog up and running a heck of a lot faster than I thought I would tbh and while I’m not gonna do a proper promo or anything at all like that, for anyone who’s interested you can find her (and thus by extension me) over here!
HIATUS
officially starting today, november 5 and going until sometime in april 2020. it might seem a bit long but april is when i’m out of school & the multi is just too much to handle while i’m here.
i won’t be gone completely, as I’m going to be taking Cordelia and giving her her own blog once more - but I’m going to pretty selective with who I follow & what I do, since it’s going to be incredibly low activity.
i most likely won’t post a promo when i finish her blog - instead just following a few people on my own and seeing what happens from there. if you wish to unfollow this blog since it won’t be active for a number of months, that’s totally understandable, and maybe when i’m back in the spring we can reconnect and write sometime then.

any time i see exalted family relationship drama (i.e - @exalted--zealotry / anri disapproving of literally every partner his kids have ever) i remember that post abt how cordelia would be the only potential spouse he’d ever approve of and how oddly uncomfortable that makes her and i die laughing
Talfryn, Chevalier & the Khione Amulet
Of the twenty-two crests seen in game, six are labeled as ‘crests lost to time’, and their origin within the bloodlines of Fodlan and subsequent disappearance is muddled, murky, or otherwise entirely nonexistent, and most seem not to care about the crests that did not originate from either the 10 Elites or the 5 Saints.
As we know, thought, there were more ‘heroes’ of the time than simply the 10 Elites, though - Maurice being one such example. One of these ‘heroes’ bore the name Chevalier, and was part of Nemesis’ group when the self-proclaimed Liberation King returned to Zanado to massacre the majority of its inhabitants, and the blood and bones that Chevalier would obtain while in battle against one of Goddess’ children would become the fuel for his bloodline’s crest and the material’s for their house’s relic.
The Nabatean to whom that blood and those bones originally belonged to was Talfryn, a snow dragon and one of the younger of the Nabatean’s numbers, only a handful of years older than Cethleann. When Nemesis and his bandits struck, those at the Holy Tomb were largely unprepared, and Talfryn was no exception to this. It is during an attempt to flee the slaughter in the midst of the bloodshed that Chevailer makes the young Nabatean his mark, and he is successful - mostly. The ensuing fight results in the severing of Talfryn’s wings in his dragon form, forcing him back into that of his human one, and Chevalier would take the wings as his personal spoils - part of a body being better than none, in spite of his desire to have had the whole.
Through what miracle he is spared the bandit finishing him off for god, he doesn’t know - from that point forward in his memories all he has a clear recollection of is the pain that followed, for a seemingly endless time. But when next he was able to open his eyes, he would find that not only had he lost the ability to transform, but also that the vast majority of his brethren were slain - alongside Seiros and the others, he was now one of very, very few who had somehow survived. He is told of Seiros’ current battle with Nemesis, the search for those who would stand against him and fight on the side of the Nabateans - and where they choose to impart their blood to these mortals and forge pacts with them, Talfryn refuses. At this point he is well aware of what fate befell his severed wings and the blood that could be drained from them, and he has no wish to further entangle himself in such meaningless death any longer - when his crest has already been stolen to be used without consent, why would he willingly give it to another?
So for the duration of the war, Talfryn remains in hiding - something they all agree on to be the best course of action, as no doubt those who had attempted to kill them all in the first place would come back to finish what they started if they caught wind of survivors. He stays in the Holy Tomb until the war is over, and when Seiros calls herself Rhea and has Garreg Mach Monastery built, he rejoins her from his dark, below-ground hiding place to assist with the academy and the church, dearly hopeful that he can put these memories of loss and pain behind him and forge a new, peaceful life instead, and it is in Garreg Mach where Talfryn can be found to this day - albeit with the name Celyn replacing that of his old one, a precaution taken should anyone remember the Snow Dragon who did not die in the Red Canyon. More often than not he can be found lingering either in the Cathedral or the Greenhouse, or, after the timeskip, on the balcony of the monastary’s third floor.
The fate of Talfryn’s wings is exactly what he had feared it would be - when Those Who Slither got their hands on them, they extracted the blood to imbue Chevalier with Talfryn’s crest, thereafter renaming it for the man who had taken it. The bones of the wings were constructed into a relic for Chevalier’s use - the Khione Amulet. As Talfryn was not slain and his heart was not harvested to act as the crest stone for the relic, Those Who Slither implanted a false reconstruction of one that would enable the relic to be used without risk, though with it’s power only half of what it truly could be should it have the real crest stone placed within.
The Khione Amulet is an equippable item relic, much like the Aegis Shield, Rafail Gem or Thyrsus. It would be worn clipped to a belt or strap at the waist, hanging from one hip. It increases the wearer’s hit & critical rate by 10%, and when used in conjunction with a physical weapon, enables the use of the combat art Drifting Snow, which uses 3 runs of durability on the weapon but increases might by 12, hit by 5, and critical by 5 and places a debuff of mt/def-5 on the enemy unit while also rendering them unable to move throughout their next turn - or it would, if it had the real crest stone. With the false, the wearer’s hit and critical rate are increased only by 7%, and use of Drifting Snow is impossible.
Khione comes from Greek Myth; the name of a snow nymph from Mount Haimos, the daughter of the Boreas and Oreithya - the god of the north wind and the lady of mountain gales, respectively.
