The Schmidt/Afton family has always been intertwined. The movie franchise is about two men picking up the broken pieces of their father's mistakes and trying to navigate their lives.

Movie takes place over the course of a week.

Mike is the eldest son of Henry (dead) and taking care of his little brother Sammy (mentioned) in California.

Follows Mike as he moves back to Utah to deal with the old family house as he's decided to sell it. Along with the Fazbear's building.

Short flashbacks of family memories as Mike goes through the house. 

Family pictures seen in the house, including Mike going into his old room. Dusting off a particular polaroid with him hugging another boy in a striped shirt. (He keeps this one) 

Gets a surprise visit from Mr. Clay Burke (family friend) who is still the town's Chief of Police. They grab lunch at a diner as they catch up. Hardly touch on the missing kids incident and briefly talk about Sammy. 

Visits Fazbear's at night to give it a look over. Not as vandalized as he expected. Gives the animatronics a look. Mentions Foxy giving him a gnarly scar to talk about. Quick Foxy jumpscare.

Spends most of his time in the security office that doubled as the official office. Lots of things to go through and with the security system up ad running.

Night 1: A rather chill night aside from some odd noises coming from the kitchen and Mike falling asleep on the desk.

Mike has a nightmare. A little black girl who seems to be playing a game of chase with him. He can't get a good look at her, only the back of her afro puffs. He is deeply disturbed. At some point he's able to catch up to her, but she's crying now and just as he goes to touch her shoulder. Chica jumpscare. 

Waking up at 6am on the dot, he is prompted to go see a friend.
