A short song yu x danqing drabble keke

"A-Yu, that's the third one this week."

Song Yu hums to himself and lightly pets the ball of fur making itself at home in his lap, verdant eyes half lidded in contentment. The rumbling purrs cause his hands to tingle pleasantly.

A sigh, and a familiar, beloved figure crouches down next to him, perfect face pulled into a bored expression with one hand cupping one jade cheek. "You can't keep picking up strays like this," he says, almost petulantly, "Look how much of your attention they stole from me. I'll wither at this rate, beloved!"

Song Yu laughs, a short, surprised sound, and turns his head just so to smile teasingly from below his bangs. "A-Qing, who was it who brought back the first one after finding the poor thing drenched in the rain and starved of food?"

Grumbling, Danqing sits himself next to the pair of immortal and cat, eyeing the latter somewhat jealously. "Your lap used to be my sole property, you know. I can't believe I'm sharing with a cat of all things."

"That's not true. Flower Bell also takes naps on my lap sometimes, did you forget?"

"Flower Bell is Flower Bell, the cat is a cat. It's different."

"Whatever you say, beloved." Song Yu acquiesces indulgently, his smile as soft as can be. He tucks a few errant locks of moonlight hair behind one earfin and tilts his head at his partner, considering. After a few beats, he eases the furball that had been occupying his lap onto the floor of their modest home, gently pushing it to go outside and join the other two of the rescued cats. The cat trots away after stretching languoriusly, eager to play with its friends.

"I seem to have sudden vacancy in my lap. Would you care for a rest, darling?" he asks Danqing, who had been watching the entire procession of events with a look of smugness, even as the cat disappeared out of sight.

With a gleeful grin, Danqing all but flops his head into his lap, quickly making himself comfortable as he turns to lean into his lover's stomach, smiling against the water-like silk adorning his body. He inhales the scent of sunshine, water, and home, and quietly surrenders to the call of sleep, as warm and familiar hands smooth over his cheeks and hair, caressing him like the most precious treasure in the immortal realm.

"Rest well, heart."
