First Mate Matte

“It’s no problem! So Boardwalk or beach? If we do go to the boardwalk we have to go to this nice place I know that sells fries, and if we go to the beach I know a nice little cove with cute tide pools” Matte grinned, they didn’t usually spend their shore leave alone with strangers but they felt like this could be a lot of fun

“Um….boardwalk sounds like a good start honestly.” Neptune thought long and hard on that choice, he also was a little hungry too.

"Boardwalk it is then!" Matte started walking in the direction of the fried shop, leading Neptune by the hand "the fries here are reeeeeally good, perfect amount of salt"

“….Not a fan of the sea in general. Too many bad memories on the large bodies of water that it…kinda makes me freeze up in a bit of a panic attack.”

“Not a fan of the!!” Matte tried their best not to be offended. “Well mate maybe I could help you get over your fear, start small with like kiddie pools with salt water in it. I don’t believe I’ve caught your name? If I’m gonna help you out I should probably know what to call you”

“I’m Neptune and…its not that I fear small bodies of water like kiddie pools its just large bodies of water.” he hesitated a little with his words

“Well alright then neptune maybe we could take you near the ocean but not actually close enough for you to get wet” Matte chuckled for a second before continuing “whatdya say? A nice walk on the beach with a friendly sailor?”

“Uh well I have yet to honestly say no to someone cute so….” he was close to saying no, dear Oum he wanted to say no and run to the hills but he was so conflicted within. “S-S-Sure.” It was a struggle for him to say that.

"Don't worry mate we'll go at a slow pace, maybe if we chat more while we walk it'll distract you from being close to the sea." Matte took the blue haired boy by the hand "and if being down on the sand is too much we could always start up on the boardwalk"
