First Exposures

Sutro & Sunshine

On April 27th, we headed to Sutro Baths for fresh air, sunshine (sort of), and to celebrate pinhole camera day. Each year, our Youth Advisory Board chooses a place to visit each year for great photo making or spending time together. 

While we love the darkroom and digital lab, it’s nice to take a break in a beautiful and historical spot. Still we’re photographers, so we lugged a box full of pinhole cameras for some vintage photo fun, including some experimental digital pinhole cameras. 

During our trip, we also explored caves, cliffs, and waters. We even spotted Nessie! Okay, it may have just been Karl the Frog but we are getting ready for our summer theme of Myths  and Monsters, so our imaginations are running wild.
