First-Time Mech Owner

I've been here for a little while now, so I thought it was about time I introduced myself!

I'm Fixy (she/her) and this is where I post all about my pet cybertronians! I try to post updates every weekend, but given that I have crippling ADHD and a busy college life, I might fall behind once in a while. Sorry in advance!

Even if I don't have time or energy to post an official update, my asks are always open! Whether you have questions about my little guys or you want to tell me about your own experience, it makes my day to hear from you and I will always try to respond!

Anyway, I know how hard it can be to keep track of things, so I'll keep updated lists on everything you need to know!

My little guys:

Blitzwing ~ The walking disaster that was my first experience in botkeeping. [Introduction] Skyfire ~ A stray bot I found wandering around campus. He's a little traumatized, but he's a very good boy. [Introduction] Octane ~ A Christmas gift my parents found at a rescue. He pretends to be a good boy. He isn't. [Introduction] Starscream #1 ~ Came out of nowhere and attacked my mechs. Important notes:

I live with a roommate (we share a dorm but have separate bedrooms), and she happens to have her own pet cybertronians! Quite a few of them, actually! I heard that there's an gang of feral mech on campus. I don't know much about them yet, but so far they seem very aggressive... I'll try to keep track of which mechs are in the pack.

Feral pack:

(ADOPTED!) Starscream #1 ~ Came out of nowhere and attacked my mechs. [Introduction] [Adoption] (ADOPTED!) Starscream #2 (Starling) ~ Starscream's kit. [Introduction] "Grey one" (?) ~ I've only caught glimpses of it, but it looks pretty big from what I can tell... [Mention] [Mention #2]

I let my mechs play in the garden today and Starscream seemed curious about Octane. Starscream usually stays away from the others, so it was really good to see them socializing for once! Unfortunately, Octane was a little nervous and tried to hide from them. I don't blame him, considering what happened between those two.

Considering all that, it went surprisingly well! Neither of them got aggressive and they just kinda stared at each other for a while before Starscream moved on.

Blitzwing was VERY angry with me because I stopped him from eating beetles.

I feed him. He has absolutely no reason to eat beetles. I don't even think Cybertronians can digest beetles. Nonetheless, he was VERY offended. He's been pouting ever since.

Octane didn't come for breakfast this morning, which was super odd of him. I was calling and calling bit he wasn't answering and I couldn't find him in any of his usual spots. It took maybe an hour before I found him in the glue trap downstairs :[

I don't know how long he was stuck there with all the dead spiders... maybe all night. Poor little guy... He was crying so much.

Blitzwing got a hold of my drawing tablet and kept biting me whenever I tried to take the pen back. I think it was some sort of game to him? But it hurt my fingers :[ Even worse, he did it when I was in the middle of drawing... well... this!

Discovering the fourth wall, surprisingly, didn't shatter his mind? I thought it would, but I think he's a little too stupid to realize what he was looking at.

I love my dumb, troublesome, violent little boy <3

As I mentioned before, Skyfire has actually started going outside since the snow melted! He's been enjoying my mother's garden, even though not much has grown yet. He insists on going outside every day to check for new sprouts. ^^ It's so sweet...

The Starscreams are settling in surprisingly well! They're still very aggressive towards Blitzwing and Octane, but they've warmed up to Skyfire, and they've stopped hissing at me (for the most part).

Sorry I've been gone for so long. Exams were brutal to me and it took me a while to recover, but here we are! I'm back at my parents' house for the summer, and my mechs are settling in!

Also, I'm happy to announce that Skyfire is finally going outside again now that all the snow has melted! I'm sure he'll start feeling a lot better now that he's getting some fresh air and time out of the house.

Good news! Starscream is back from the vet! They've already given me about 12 different scratches and burns, but oh well ;-; What did I expect? Its not my first time dealing with aggressive mechs. I'm just glad they're healthy and back with their kit.

Today, Skyfire tried to introduce himself! He's usually pretty shy, so I was really proud of him for stepping up to make the Starscreams feel at home. He was definitely nervous, and I don't think Starscream really knew what to think of him, but I'd say it went well! No blood was shed!

It has a kit. Oh god it has a kit.

I’m a relatively new mech owner, but somehow I already have three optimuses (optimi?) (Had two, got a third from a friend), they dont fight or anything, but im worried about my lone megatron… The three have started holding little meetings where they all occasionally will ominously stare back at wherever megatron is.

Are they plotting murder? I’ve heard optimuses and megatrons can be quite aggressive with eachother, but i never had an issue till my newest optimus got settled.

Oh the new guy also always has his energon axe out,,,, not fun to get hit by,,,

I would definitely suggest keeping them separate when you're not around to supervise them. Things could get ugly fast if you aren't there to break up the fight.

You said they only started acting up when the newest Optimus joined? It's possible that the new one has been influencing the others... I think you should focus on getting him socialized with your Megatron (in a safe way, of course) so that maybe he can stop seeing him as a foe. Shared activities is a good idea to start with. Take it slow, and just try to get them on common ground.

I didn't even know they sold mechs in "packs"! That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen...

I don't know much about those species, but it doesn't take much research to find out that they're all natural enemies ;-;

You might be cooked.

I'll give you the same suggestion I give most people with compatability problems. Keep them separated when you aren't able to supervise and try to get them used to each other. It's possible that the best you'll get is just "tolerating" each other's presence, and in this case, thats a 100% valid end goal.

This might be really hard... and it's possible you might not be able to keep them all, but that doesn't mean you should stop trying.

I put on that new dinosaur documentary, and oh boy... my mechs LOVED IT. Blitzwing and Octane were completely ENRAPTURED. God, they loved it so much. Drama? Fire? Giant lizards eating each other? They ate it up. Skyfire loved it too, but I really think he was happy that we were all doing it together. He's gotten a lot more social ever since the other two took a liking to him <3

See, I’ve been wanting to run some tabletop games for a local friend group, and I finally got a nice set of dice last week to do it with. I was really excited to use them in our next DND session, except not too long after we started, one of the dice slipped off the table and under the cabinet. No biggie, right? Well, I reach down to grab it, and that’s when something BITES ME and runs off with my D12! Stuff like this keeps happening almost every time I try to run a session, and I could tell it was a cybertronian by the little clanking sounds it made when it skittered off, so I decided to try and get some photos of it before asking for advice.

Lo and behold, today I finally managed to catch the little thief in the act and get a photo by leaving another one of my dice out as bait!

I think he might be a smaller breed of Jetfire, or maybe a juvenile (because look at his conniving little face! He doesn’t regret anything!) I was thinking if I could figure out where he’s hiding all his ill-gotten goods, I might be able to catch him (and rescue my dice.) He’s kind of adorable, though…it might be fun to have a mech around in the house, if only I could get him to stop snatching my stuff >.<

Any advice on locating his nest would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not quite sure how to manage the little guy. I'm still figuring out my own Skyfire, but I might be able to help a little if you haven't solved it already in the time it took me to respond. The one you found seems to be "hyperfixated" on dice. My best suggestion is to bribe your dice back by trading with energon, or by introducing it to other objects to entertain it other than dice. Skyfires and Jetfires are very curious by nature, so it should be fascinated by new objects!
