The 17th of May was the 15th anniversary of one of the best games ever (in my humble opinion), L.A. Noire! By complete coincidence I happened to be replaying it right now.

So my point is. Technopolis was a cult or had cult-ish undertones.

The citizens saw Computer Supreme (their leader) as almighty, everything she said was considered the only truth and technopolians quite literally worshipped her like a god. The city was isolated from the outside world for ages, people were brainwashed on daily basis into believing that CS is doing everything for their safety and happiness (quote:"Computer Supreme cares for your well being. Praise Computer Supreme.") and all that made them think that CS is flawless and can do nothing wrong. Citizens made fun of Gene for even suggesting that there might be life outside and right after CS literally commands to monitor his every move. Usage of fear as a manipulation technique also can be seen (quote:"Life outside of Technopolis is impossible, the air is toxic"; she threatens Dr.X to replace him if he has any doubts). And CS' reaction to being exposed? To fucking kill everyone lmao (not quite but yk what i mean. glad she didn't overreact)

So this made me think that there actually wasn't any mental health help in Technopolis, just so it'll be easier to manipulate and brainwash people into CS' ideology. All mental help they'd get is probably something like "oh you don't feel so good? just take antidepressants and double your vitamin b shots LOL". And i think even after CS' downfall Technopolis' mental help is still pretty shitty like just think about it Technopolis was run by a cult for AGES and such sudden changes are really hard to handle.

It's a little ironic considering that Technopolis is supposed to be all "progressive" and shit....

Idk if i need to clarify it but Dr.X's politics do NOT have cult-ish undertones and are VERY different from CS'. People do not worship him (of course they did think that he's super cool awesome and smart when he still was "head first assistant" but thats only because he was close to CS and people LOVED her) they are allowed to criticize him (even if he's being a cunt about it) they are actually FREE. It doesn't mean that Dr.X is a perfect ruler but he's def better than CS if you ask me
