“– Alright then.” She responds, taking one of the twenties back before slipping it into her suit. “You said you couldn’t take all of it, so I’m leaving you with thirty. Whether you want to buy the shoes, save it up or whatever– it’s up to you. But it’s not even pity. One of our jobs as pros is to give a helping hand the coming generations, and that’s what I’m doing right now.”

– Who knows. Maybe one day this kind deed might convince the young boy to join her agency.

“Remember to take my advice to heart okay?”

He stays silent and gives a small nod at her last question. He still wasn’t very happy that she gave him money, but she seemed serious about what she was doing so he didn’t protest again. Maybe she did have some wisdom in the advice she gave.

He didn’t have a chance to ride heelies?! She’s visibly concerned by his lack of fun childhood– causing her to pause for a moment before pulling out her wallet.. and handing him another forty.

She could wait for a new comforter set for her bed. This teenager’s fun was priority.

“Go make your friends jealous.”

Is she serious? Is she really giving him 50 bucks just to buy heelies? When not too long ago she was stealing his fries? Is this a joke?

Does she want the money to buy a BBQ pork bun? Oh totally. But she’s a hero, and heroes can’t go eating children’s fries and not go above and beyond with paying them back.

“I don’t have any change so unfortunately it’s all I have to give you. But it’s fine– I really don’t have any need for it. With how busy I’ve been, my pay’s been pretty good.– Use it to go buy yourself some heelies or something.”

Cause kids his age likes heelies right?

He appreciated the gesture, but still thought it was excessive. Sure he hounded her in the moment about paying him back but it was a joke.

“A replacement for your fries.”

He stares at the money and then back at her.
