"Then why does it always feel like I'm babysitting you?"

"You make me want to shoot myself in the face and die when you say that."

"It's incredible I've managed to put up with you this long."

"Well, uh, actually…" Peter’s head knocked back and forth, almost regretting bringing it up whenever he did, having to explain the exact context as well, and why it took so long to come to this conclusion in the relationship. "That’s the first time we said uh…" he widened his eyes, raised his eyebrows, nudging her towards the end of that awkward thing to tell people when talking about your relationship. It made him felt simultaneously closeted, while being too proud of himself. He really didn’t care too much though.

Raising an eyebrow, she asked, "...You said you loved each other? Because I gathered as much." His expression brought her to the realization that this was an awkward thing for him to talk about. She was used to hearing about how his and Gwen's relationship was going. He, on the other hand, had no such practice. Out of courtesy, she tried her hand at changing the topic. "If Gwen's gonna be as long as she says, we have time to watch an episode of How I Met Your Mother. And I need to catch up on the latest season, so hand over the remote."  

"I dunno, it’s not very distracting when it blends in most of the time."

"When in doubt mauve on basic black."

"Him?— You mean like myself?"

"But the Spider-Man I know is red and blue."

"Good. It’s uh…it’s going alright." he nodded with a wide, tightlipped grin, keeping it from becoming too goofy. It calmed into a serene, saccharin smile. "I…told her I love her." he said proudly.

Glancing at his completely strained smile, she chuckled silently. Mary Jane's eyebrows shot up, a surprised smile on her face directed at Peter. "Mazel Tov, Petey-O!" She chuckled a little, "'Bout time, don't you think?" MJ wondered why Gwen hadn't said anything. Kind of a big thing to mention, and Peter seemed awfully proud of it. The back of her mind wondered whether he'd told Harry yet, since he looked like he'd already shouted it out from the top of the Washington Bridge. Oh, crap. What would happen if he had told Harry? He wouldn't get ideas, right? No... Harry was completely content with where their relationship was. Without the whole "extreme commitment I-love-you" thing.
