This is a particularly strange one because that's a fairly normal white skin tone. And canonically, he probably should be somewhat tan, since it's mentioned that Sophie looks a bit like Biana when her skin is darkened with an elixir.

Kenric saying that they "don't know" whether elves are immortal is so funny to me, because it almost seems to imply that he thinks that there's a legitimate chance that elves aren't immortal. Nobody's died yet, but we can't rule out the possibility that Fallon will drop dead any day now.

I like to believe that this is a Kenric-specific fear. Everyone else is just takes for granted that they're immortal, but Kenric, specifically, is really scared that Bronte's going to drop dead out of nowhere.
