“Maybe not to you.” But he’d always had a habit of not being able to sit still which usually meant he was messing with something in class or tapping incessantly. Doing the work was less of an issue for him. “And I think you’re taking some liberties there saying I love you Finn.”

“What can I say?” Finn replied with a smirk. “I like taking liberties, it’s kind of my thing.”

“You haven’t? It’s pretty creepy I’m not going to lie, you don’t know what they’re status is and you’re afraid to jostle them.” Elliot explained to the other, kind of glad in a way that he didn’t know how to sleep with his eyes open so he didn’t scare anyone off. “I’ve seen it before, I know how weird it is, trust me.”

“Do they blink?” Finn asked. “I feel like if you slept with your eyes open, you wouldn’t blink.”

“Did you want some extra credit?” Emma asked the other as she placed the student’s latest paper back onto the desk. “You’ve been ahead for the last month so you can take a break from assignments if you’d like, or you can do another essay.” 

“Oh, I’m good. I kind of like getting ahead, that way I’m not stressed out in the end. Surprising coming from me, I know.” Fionnuala knew that people expected her to do bad. She was the older rebel princess, irresponsible and not fit to ever take the throne, not that she’d ever do it anyway. “Plus, I barely like writing the essays I have now so I’ll pass on that.”

“There have been several that do not shine a favorable light for your family, I should know given I was involved with them as well.” A lot of public humiliation and big scenes which were normally followed by rather unflattering photos all over the internet and in the papers the following day that were titled with something unoriginal and cringe-worthy. Eren simply stared at the other and let out a low whistle, “Really goes to say something when your brothers number one enemy knows him better than his own sister.” He tutted with a small shake of his head. “I do, it’s not the first time someone has told me that and it surely won’t be the last.”

Finn shrunk back a little when Eren tutted, hurt visibly across her face. It was only for a moment, and then she let herself cover it up, though all that ran through her mind was that she screwed up, just like she always did. Finn took a step backward as if to show she wasn’t comfortable anymore, that and angry at the other, herself, the world, emotions she tried to hide everyday flooding through. She crossed her arms to pretend that what he said didn’t upset her. “I know my brother,” she said. “Unlike you, I try to be better. No wonder Charlie hates you.”

“Not on me, but I can go back to my room first and grab it,” Charlie offered. “I should probably take John on a walk too, if you’d like to join us.”

“I’d love to,” Finn replied. “You know I’d never say no to going on a walk, especially with John.”

“If I sit in the back, near a corner, pretty sure I’ll not get caught. Though in times like this I really wish I had nailed the art of sleeping with your eyes open. No matter how creepy it can look, I imagine it’d come in useful.” Elliot pondered for a moment before pulling on his shoes. “Yes, yes- I’m coming, stop being inpatient this early in the morning.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone sleep with their eyes open,” Finn said. “Imagine though, someone sleeping with their eyes open in front of you and all they did was stare. That seems a little weird.”

“Well maybe not now while you’re at college, but in the future when you’ve had training maybe?” Lottie offered. “Nah, you won’t scare me away with that stuff.” She’d been surrounded by a lot of that at college back on Earth so it was quite normal to her now. “You can love someone and still not support it. It’s the absolute worst, don’t sugarcoat it.”

“Which is why I wouldn’t mind changing it for the future, that way if Charlie ever has kids, his daughter doesn’t get beat out by her younger brother just because he’s a boy. Besides gender is a literal social construct, why does it matter what gender you are to lead a realm or a country? My Grandmother runs it just fine and she’s a woman. I have no idea when she never changed it.”

“But I don’t know anything about heels. And I’m pretty sure the stores that sell your expensive heels won’t sell shoes suitable for me,” Thea shrugged. “I’ll come with you though as I want to get out of this place for an afternoon. Maybe get a soft pretzel from the mall.”

“You know, I don’t always but expensive things, right? We can go to a shop that sells shoes for both of us,” Finn said. “And we can get that soft pretzel.”

“Yeah, I’ve met you. I would say you were worse than my teachers but then they would come down on me like hellfire so I’d rather not risk that.” That being said, if he didn’t want to do something, Lucas was very good at avoiding it.

“Come on, you know you love me,” Finn replied with a smirk. “Our teachers aren’t that bad.”

She laughed in response to the comment- they were pretty similar in a lot of ways. “You are the expert, I’ll try them by themselves first then.” Charlotte decided before taking one to try, “That’s delicious!” She spoke after she had tried it. “How long have you been hiding these from me?” 

“Well I haven’t exactly been hiding them from you, you just never asked,” Fionnuala replied. “I swear, these things might be my krytonite.”

“How do you read my mind so well?” Charlotte asked, pretending as if she was shocked by it. “Do we need any dip for the tasting experience?” 

“We just think the same, dude,” Finn replied. “I don’t think you shoud dip these, but I’m up to trying that.”

“Oh I will be totally using an abusing that privilege, Finn.” Lucas warned the girl because there was nothing that relaxed him more than laying down with someone’s hands in his hair. “Alright alright. You’re a real ass kicker, aren’t you.”

“Yeah, have you met me? You should know this by now, Harper,” Fionnuala replied with a smirk on her face. “I’m very bad at taking no for an answer.”

“And you have to take all the notes in the classes we share together so I can nap at my desk, adding that to our deal because I think it’s going to be needed.” Elliot pointed out to the other, especially when he had a dance practice later in the evening so it’s not like he could even go back to his room and crash after a day of classes on top of a hike.

“As long as you don’t get caught,” Finn teased. “But yes, I promise to take all the note in class today. Now are you coming with me or...?”

“I was trying to work on it, but clearly I keep getting distracted,” Winnie laughed sheepishly. “Perhaps we can start on it together later?”

“Yes, please,” Finn said, dramatically. “I don’t know what I was thinking of trying to start this when we literally just finished class. I currently have no brain cells.”

“Interesting, very interesting.” Charlotte said as she thought about the chip flavour. “I’m happy to share my ice cream if you’d like to share some of the chips? We could have a mini feast.” 

“You’re in luck, because I in fact brought a bag of said chips,” Finn said, pulling the bag of chips from her bag. “They’re my favorite, and you must experience them.”

“Half of it?” he looked worried as the girl picked up the shiny object from the grass. “Does that mean it broke or something?”

Finn nodded. “Yeah, but if I find the other half, I have someone who could fix it.” Finn walked around, looking through the grass.
