I’m so annoyed about how people discuss Kalim. Antis ares one thing, but even neutral people seem to disregard his trauma in favor of talking about another character (most often Jamil) and only focus on the ‘helpless spoiled rich kid who is so out of touch that he doesn’t understand a lick of people’s emotions at all’ characterization like they’re permanently stuck in Jamil’s brain in book 4. Literally just stop talking about Kalim in general.

little kalim doodles i did today… he’s so lovely… the only person ever in the world… i also feel like especially after jamil’s overblot kalim is one big overthinker while jamil is kind of thinking in one track ykwim … he’s a lot more focused while kalim is just a MESS lol
i like to think that kalim is kind of one big control freak. like if people arent really acting up to a certain standard for him he kinda just ghosts them LOLL.. and for the people he cares about its kind of more of a like “this is for my wellbeing and yours” way.. (his cameras on jamil) i think that he does get kind of upset when things don’t go his way or when people refuse him i think he’s just more likely to aggressively try to fix the problem to try and get back on the main task. if he knows everything then he can’t get hurt again. if he’s in the know about everything then he can’t hurt anyone else again. his character is kind of pb coded nglll… i also like to think that he’s been hurt by many people in the past to the point that now if he’s trusts someone he digs into their character information personal relationships intentions etc because he doesn’t trust his instincts as well anymore. (after jamil’s ob especially)

I think that the best thing about jamikali is how TERRIBLY they don’t understand each other. Kalim will never know the feeling of being less than for his whole life, never having a chance to succeed and being chained to someone, who’s success is YOUR success, meanwhile jamil will never understand Kalims obliviously coping with his life with unwaverinv optimism and the responsibility that he will eventually have to take on
They are so dependent on each other yet hardly take the time to understand the others side
I feel like calling a three year age gap proship is kind of insane 😭 it REALLY isnt that bad in my opinion?? But some people act like it’s a ten year gap 😭😭😭 I’ve had multiple friends with a three year gap and having a happy relationship?? I don’t know. Somebody dispute me if I’m wrong (tbf im still young, therefore I do not have maybe the correct knowledge on whether or not this is morally correct)

Based off of a hanahaki au I read of Kalim, I did this drawing in an hour… maybe the fastest I’ve ever colored? Also I freaking love Kalim… beat me up but I also love Jamikali hhhhhh so freaking cute and complicated. Currently writing a fic of the two but it’s Jade Kalim endgameeee yall wanna see that???
