A quick finalization of Luminen. This character had an initial design in 2018, and a very lazy redesign in 2020. This is honestly just a clean up of the last time I drew her, and I’m somewhat happy with it. She was initially known as “Snowy” since she was based off the Giant Leopard Moth, but was changed to Luminen to help separate her from “original source material.” (Note: her name is just the Finnish word for ‘Snowy’ *cleverness intensifies*) Luminen is the manager and owner of the Vaski General Store: the only store left in Vaski. She is one of the most important people in the hamlet for that reason. She’s loud, touchy (as in she ignores the personal space of others), and somewhat of a joker. Occasionally, she can be a short fuse, but only towards Tawu she is unfamiliar with or under stress. She’s best friends with Baraburk.

I need to learn to animate faster. Featuring Codras’ Panne and FinnAnon’s SweetSilk.

Another Flitter drawing. I been listening to bloody valentine by MGK a lot so I tried to pull in influence from that.

Thanks again to @finnishanon for allowing me to use SweetSilk as part of the portfolio. Also, the only reason she’s holding a rock as oppose to a paper moth is cause the paper moth asset I created looks a bit weird currently, and I didn’.t have much time to work on it before the deadline.

I’m currently working on an animation of Blocky for chuck, and everything from the storyboard to the rough animation is done, but it might take a while to clean up and finalize it. For now, here is a test animation I made a few weeks ago and posted exclusively on /moth/ of FinnAnon’s mothp, cause she’s a good character to practice new animation techniques on. Specifically, this was a test of integrating ToonBoom in to Flash. I used ToonBoom for the rough animation, and Flash for the cleaning up and finalizing of the animation. I also tried out some new squash and stretch techniques.

Second Scene? Shit’s done! Only have one more scene left to finish, and this will be ready to upload. Fuck if I know how long the final scene will take to make, but whatever. Here’s yet another singular screenshot of the animation in progress.
